The 2005 racing season for the Lebanon I-44 Speedway is scheduled to begin on April 2.

Gates will open at 5 p.m. with racing to begin at 7:30 p.m.

Late Models, Modifieds, Super Stocks, Factory Stocks, Bombers, and 305 Wing Spring cars will all be racing.

"We're expecting over a hundred cars," said track owner Randy Mooneyham.

Darrell Mooneyham is expected to return to defend his 2004 Late Model championship title against other expected drivers such as Brandon McCormick, Brad Looney, Reggie Jackson and Tony Jackson Jr. Late models will pay $1,000 to win the feature.

Eric Hudson is expected to return to defend his Modified championship title and Larry Pruitt is expected to return to defend his Super Stock championship title.

Mooneyham has added over 100 loads of new clay to the track as well as repainting much of the facility. Fans will easily notice the new state-of-the-art PA system that will be in use.

"I think the fans will be impressed with the track changes," Mooneyham said.

Another new change is price. Children 12 and under will now get into the races for free. Juniors, ages 13-15, are $5. Adult ticket price is now $10. Mooneyham said the price changes make the facility more "affordable for the family." Prices are the same for both grandstand and Wild Side/ tier parking.

"The Wild Side/tier parking people can bring their own concessions and tailgate," said Mooneyham. Mooneyham also reminded fans that alcohol is allowed in tier parking, but the grandstands and racing pit are to remain alcohol free.

"Without a doubt, it's one of the premier dirt tracks in America," said Mooneyham.
