Brian Collins took home the win in the 35 lap UMP Late Model feature event during the NASCAR Night at Quincy Raceways on Thursday, July 7. Johnny Johnson drew the low number to start the main event on the pole position and led the first four laps until Ed Dixon charged by to take the lead in the Allen Automotive #16. Dixon maintained the lead with a war going on behind him for second between Johnson and Collins. The yellow flag came out on the thirteenth lap with Dixon pulling to the pits with a steering problem giving the lead over to Collins on the restart. Mark Burgtorf had moved into second followed by Johnson, Mike Hammerle and Kenny Schrader who had started in the sixth row. Burgtorf hounded Collins over the remaining laps even pulling ahead at the line on the thirty third lap but traffic forced Burgtorf back into the second spot. Collins held Burgtorf at bay the rest of the way to take the win with in second. Kenny Schrader and Johnny Johnson put on quite a show as the two battled for the third position during the last ten laps. Schrader got by Johnson on the thirty first lap to take the third spot with Johnson following in fourth and Mike Hammerle in fifth. Collins, Jeff Laue and Dixon were the heat race winners with Collins making it a perfect three for three by taking the win in the Dash for Cash.
Kenny Wallace was on hand to do battle with the Quincy Raceways A-Modifieds but the story of the race was Henry Delonjay as he picked up yet another win feature event win. Delonjay jumped into the lead at the drop of the green flag with Michael Long nipping at his rear bumper. Long challeneged Delonjay on several occasions during the twenty five lap main event but Delonjay pulled to a comfortable win at the checkered flag with Long settling for the second spot. Robby Warner grabbed third with Ted Allen in fourth and Brandon Lennox in fifth. Kenny Wallace started deep in the field for the feature event and did a very credible job in taking home the eighth spot. Tony Dunker and Warner were the heat race winners with Warner also taking the win in the Cash for Dash.
Eddie Dieker started the main event for the Bombers from the pole position but it was not enough of an advantage as Adam Birck challenged Dieker over the first five laps taking over the lead on lap six and keeping Dieker at bay until the checkered flag fell. Dieker settled for second with Steve Carlin in third. Cale Foster crossed the line in fourth but was disqualified after the tech officials found that his carburetor was illegal. Travis Booher ended up fourth with Michael Larson in fifth. Booher and Foster were the heat race winners.
