Terry Gallaher, Ted Allen, Wyatt Lance, Travis Booher and Michael Grossman all took feature event wins at Quincy Raceways on Sunday, July 17 during the 30th Anniversary Fan Appreciation Night at the Races.

Gallaher found the winners circle last week at Quincy Raceways and decided it was a good place to be as he gained his second straight feature event win in the Budweiser IMCA Late Model feature event. Kevin Tomlinson took the early lead in the 30 lap event and held on to the top spot for the first fifteen laps but the veteran, Gallaher made his move on the sixteenth circuit and took over the lead. Gallaher then held off Tomlison who tried to regain the lead over the next few laps then Lonnie Bailey got by Tomlinson and set his sights on Gallaher. Gallaher held off the advances to Bailey to take the win with Bailey in second, Mark Burgtorf in third, Tomlinson in fourth and Brian Harris in fifth. Harris, Ron Elbe and Bailey took the heat race wins with Bailey also taking home the hardware in the Summy Tire and Auto Center Trophy Dash.

Ted Allen finally shook the monkey off his back and led every lap of the Miller Lite A-Modified feature event to take his first win of the season. Allen looked to be the best bet to win a feature in several events this season but bad things just kept happening to keep him out of the winners circle. Allen held Brandon Lennox at bay for most of the twenty lapper with Lennox settling for the second spot. Third went to Dave Weitholder with Gary Blackburn Jr. in fourth and David Holder in fifth. Lennox and Allen were the heat race winners with Weitholder taking the win in the P&S Auto and Truck Collision Repair Trophy Dash.

Robbie Reed was the B-Modified feature leader after the first circuit and looked like he might just be a repeat feature winner after taking his first win of his career last week. Reed held off Tony Dunker for the first twelve laps but points leader, Wyatt Lance came into the lead battle on lap thirteen. Lance blasted past Dunker to take second then set his sights on Reed the next lap. Lance got past on the low side and held Reed at bay for the final seven laps to take his sixth feature win of the season. Reed settled for second with Dunker in third, Joe Blivens in fourth and Terry Houston in fifth. Houston was a surprise starter in the feature event as he suffered a major crash in his heat race. Houston lost control of his car coming off of turn two in his heat and turned right violently hitting the turn tow burm and guardrail and ending up rolling into the retaining fence and and getting the car stuck between the guardrail and fence. Houston car was heavily damaged in the wreck but the other racers banded together and found enough parts and enough help to put his car back into race shape for the main event. Dunker and Lance took the wins in the heat races.

Steve Watkins Jr. took the lead of the Bomber feature event at the drop of the green and held off Travis Booher through the first four laps and numerous caution flags. Booher stormed by Watkins on the fifth lap and held him at bay over the remainder of the time limited main event. Watkins was penalized for rough driving on the final lap as there was contact between him and Michael Larson. Larson was scored second with Adam Birck in third, Eddie Dieker in fourth and Jerry Jansen in fifth. Dieker, Brent Chapman and Gary Lewis were the heat race winners.

The Short Trackers made their first appearance of the year Sunday night and eighteen cars showed up to do battle. Michael Grossman came away with the feature event win with William Lothridge in second, Joel Kerr in third, Andrew Hulstead in fourth and Don DeMint in fifth.

The next event at Quincy Raceways will be the Heetco Night at the Races on Sunday, July 24. The 2 man Cruisers will be the added attraction that night with Gates opening at 4, Hot Laps at 6 and Racing at 6:30pm.
