Mark Burgtorf, Henry Delonjay, Wyatt Lance, and Bruce Hatfield all took feature event wins at Quincy Raceways on Sunday, August 7 during TNT Harley Hog Night at the Races.

Mike Dyche jumped into the lead of the Budweiser IMCA Late Model Feature Event at the drop of the green flag and looked strong in leading the field until the sixth lap when a tire went down leading to his early exit from the event. Justin Reed took over the top spot when Dyche exited the event and led until Mark Burgtorf worked his way to the lead on the eighteenth lap. Burgtorf had started the event in the sixth row and steadily worked his way to the front of the pack, putting on quite a show with Terry Gallaher, Denny Woodworth and Matt Bailey on his way. Woodworth found his way into the second spot on the same lap and put the pressure on Burgtorf over the final laps but was unable to make the pass and had to settle for the second spot. Terry Schlipman, Justin Reed and Gallaher rounded out the top five with Reed, Burgtorf and Dustin Neese taking the heat race wins while Woodworth grabbed the win in the Summy Tire and Auto Center Trophy Dash. Burgtorf now holds a forty seven point advantage over Lonnie Bailey in the points championship battle.

Henry Delonjay took his seventh point paying feature event win in the Miller Lite A-Modified by making a shambles of the rest of the field. Delonjay grabbed the lead away from David Weitholder on the third circuit and never was seriously challenged on his way to the checkered flag. Brandon Lennox took the second spot with Weitholder salvaging third, Danny Lake in fourth and Brian Heizer in fifth. Delonjay and Lennox were the heat race winners. Delonjay is now up by twenty four markers over Lennox in the chase to the points title.

Wyatt Lance led the final nineteen circuits of the twenty lap B-Modified feature event and held off several challenges from Tony Dunker along the way to claim his seventh feature win of 2005. Lance won by several car lengths over Dunker in second, Jeff Waterman in third, Robbie Reed in fourth and Terry Houston in fifth. Dunker and Reed were the heat race winners with Dunker scoring the win in the P&S Auto and Truck Collision Repair Trophy Dash Series. Lance has a twenty nine point advantage over Dunker in his quest for his first track points title at Quincy.

Bruce Hatfield led the first two laps of the twenty lap bomber main event then Dusty Bingaman slipped by to take over the top spot until the eleventh lap when Hatfield was able to get back past to take the lead again. Hatfield then survived several restarts and the persistent challenges of Adam Birck to take his first feature win in the bomber division this season. Birck settled for second with Bingaman in third, Steve Steinkuhler in fourth and Jerry Jansen in fifth. Nich Meyer, Gary Lewis and Steve Carlin were the heat race winners. Points leader Eddie Dieker had disaster strike as his car failed to finish his heat race forcing Dieker to borrow the Gary Lewis machine for the feature event. Dieker had no better luck in the main event and fell out of the race on the ninth lap. Dieker now holds a slim five point advantage over Birck in the points race.

The Northern All Star Late Model Series is up next at Quincy Raceways on Wednesday, August 10 with a $12,000+ purse on the line in a $2500 to win $300 to start 30 lap main event. This event should be one of the largest late model specials ever held at Quincy Raceways as it starts off the Midwest Speed Week Tour for the NALMS Late Models. This tour features over $100,000 in prize money at 5 different tracks over 5 nights. The next regular Sunday Night Action at Quincy Raceways will be the Budweiser/Rinella Company Night at the Races on Sunday, August 14 featuring the wild and wooly spectator drags as a special event.
