View Full Version : Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Makes Final Preparations for the "Pittsburgher 100"

The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will make its first ever appearance at Pittsburgh's Pennsylvania Motor Speedway in Imperial, PA this coming weekend. The 17th Annual "Pittsburgher 100" weekend will kick off with a special practice session for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series on Friday Night, September 16. On Saturday, September 17 pit gates will open at 11 AM with general admission gates opening at 12 noon. The Oval Craft Racing Aluminum Designs Time Trials will kick off at 4 pm followed by the VP Fuels Makin' Power Heat Races. The on Sunday, September 18 beginning at 5 PM will be the Mason Racing Rebel Shock Dyno and PPM Racing Products B-Mains followed by the 17th Annual "Pittsburgher 100" paying $22,000 to win and $1,000 to start that will be taped for broadcast by ESPN2. The event will be aired at a date and time to be announced. This will not be a live presentation. ESPN2 is currently seen in 90 million households nationwide. Bart Hartman of Zanesville, OH is the defending "Pittsburgher 100" winner.

The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series has held 27 events so far into the 2005 racing season with 17 different winners. There have been 484 different drivers race with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series in 2005 and with six point event left this season the points battle is heating up. Currently Don O'Neal of Martinsville, IN holds a 110 point advantage over Earl Pearson, Jr of Jacksonville, FL heading into the "Pittsburgher" Former "Pittsburgher 100" winner Donnie Moran of Dresden, OH is sitting third in points followed by Eldora Dream Winner, Matt Miller of Waterville, OH and current leading series rookie of the year driver, Scott James of Lawrenceburg, IN.
