The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series and East Bay Raceway Park in Tampa, FL have announced that the series will return for the track's 30th Annual East Bay Winternationals for Dirt Late Models to be held February 6-11, 2006. There will be six consecutive nights of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series at East Bay in February 2006 after the series set a track record for car counts earlier in 2005.
There will be six straight nights of Lucas Oil Late Model Series Racing action at East Bay Raceway Park with each night featuring a complete show with Time Trials, Heat Races, B-Mains and A-Main Feature events all starting on Monday Night, February 6th with a $5000 to win event. On Tuesday Night, February 7th and Wednesday Night, February 8th there will also be a $5000 to win A-Main event each night. The purse increases on Thursday Night, February 9th with a $7000 to win A-Main; with Friday Night, February 10th, highlighted by a $10,000 to win A-Main and to top off the 30th Annual Winternationals for Late Models at East Bay the $12,000 to win finale on Saturday Night, February 11th.
This past February there was an average of 108 Late Models per event with a track record high of 117 on Tuesday Night, February 8, 2005. Event winners this year included the only two time A-Main winner, Don O'Neal, Tim McCreadie, Terry English, Steve Shaver and Steve Francis.
East Bay Raceway will host an open practice on Sunday Night February 5th for those drivers wanting track time in preparation for the 2005 Winternationals.
