Pevely, MO (June 5, 2004) Don O'Neal lead all forty laps as he claimed the win in the second leg of the U.M.P. (United Midwestern Promoters) Tri-Track Challenge at I-55 Raceway in Pevely, MO. O'Neal, who started from the pole position, held off the challenges of Shannon Babb and Billy Moyer as he worked heavy lapped traffic flawlessly as the event went the distance without a caution. Babb and Moyer battled nose to tail and side by side for almost the entire event as Babb held on and finished second. Kevin Weaver battled with Duke Whiseant for much of the event for the fourth position, but pulled away from Whiseant in the final few laps to finish fourth. Whiseant was edged out at the finish line by Dan Schlieper for the fifth spot. Schlieper came from the 19th starting spot to fifth. Bill Frye rallied to finish seventh after a hard encounter with the turn one wall during qualifying. Dennis Erb made a strong run through the field to finish eighth. Erb transferred to the main event from the consy and had started twenty-first in the main event. Justin Allgaier and Randy Korte rounded out the top ten. Randy Korte was the fast qualifier and Billy Moyer, Duke Whiseant, Kevin Weaver and Mark Voigt won the qualifying heat races. Don O'Neal won the dash.

Scott Weber's great season in the U.M.P. Modified division continued as he picked up his fifth win of the 2004 season at I-55 Raceway. Weber held off the challenges of Bobby Bittle during the middle part of the event and then pulled away to a comfortable lead. Bittle had his hands full late in the event with Jerry Grither and Ray Walsh but was able to hand on to the second spot. Grither edged out Walsh for the third spot. Brian Wolfmeier completed the top five. Eric Mabery won the G&M Steel Dash for Cash.

The AARA Sportsman division provided some great two and three wide action for the lead throughout the event. Scott Stuppy, Troy Naeger and Paul Belken provided the fans a great race as they battled lap after lap with each driver taking turns leading. Stuppy crossed the line first to take the win. Belken was second and Naeger third. Tom Smallwood had a strong run to finish fourth and Bob Schmidt completed the top five.

Chris Sale earned the Missouri/Illinois Dodge Dealers Hard Charger Award. Sale started in the 22nd position and worked his way through the field to finish ninth.
