DIRTcar Summer NationalsSomerset, WI – June 19, 2010 – Will Vaught did everything right Saturday night at Cedar Lake Speedway, except cross the scales at a minimum 2300lbs following the A-Main.

The driver from Crane, Mo., lead every lap of the 40-lap main event only to cross the scales afterwards light. Vaught’s misfortune handed $10,000 to Muscatine, Iowa’s Brian Birkhofer who was Vaught’s fellow front row starter. Birkhofer closed within a carlenght of Vaught late, all while being challenged by Shannon Babb of Moweaqua, Ill. until Babb himself succumb to mechanical woes on lap 38.

Chatham, Ill. driver Brian Shirley finished 2nd behind Birkhofer, while Ryan Unzicker of El Paso, Ill., Jason Feger of Bloomington, Ill., and Waterville, Ohio’s Matt Miller rounded out the top five.
