Morgantown, KY

A new name and owner is now in place for the former Soggy Bottom Raceway in Morgantown, KY. The track was purchased by Caneyville, KY’s Richard Ashby along with Suburban Carpets.

The first step to a fresh new start for the 3/8 mile speedway is a brand new name. The track will now be known as Cedar Ridge Speedway. We feel the new name will help ease some minds and let everyone know that this is a new beginning for the speedway.

Johnny Hines will be on board continuing the track prep for the 2011 season which will see action slated to start on Saturday night, April 2nd.  Classes that are on the weekly agenda for the Cedar Ridge Speedway are as follows: UMP Modifieds, UMP Limited Modifieds, UMP Mini Stock, Pure Stock, Cruiser, Rusty Bolts and Bombers.

Cedar Ridge Speedway will also be running Windy Hollow Speedway rules for their divisions for the 2011 race season which will allow the cars from the area to have a Saturday and Sunday track they can run without changes. The payouts for each division will also follow Windy Hollow Speedway’s pay schedule as posted on their website (www.windyhollowspeedway.net) to start with. A Cedar Ridge rule book will be available the first of next week.

General Admission prices will be very reasonable for the fans during the 2011 race season. Adults will pay only $6.00 admission with ages 12 and under FREE!  Repairs are being done at this time to the grandstands that are in place at the speedway to make sure they are safe for the opening night and as always, there will be ample space for fans to set up their lawn chairs to watch the action from the hillside.  Pit admission will remain at $25.00.

A new website is currently in the works and we hope to have this up and running very soon with all the information on the track.

Marketing oppertunities are available at the speedway if your company or someone you know is interested in becoming part of Cedar Ridge Speedway. You can contact: Billy Egeler at suitcase_94@yahoo.com or call 270-302-8882.

We look forward to seeing everyone April 2nd for the opening night of Cedar Ridge Speedway.

Cedar Ridge Speedway is located just 2 miles west of Morgantown, KY off the William Natcher Parkway on Hwy. 70.
