Excel Bottling Returns To Celebrate 50 Years of Racing at Highland Speedway

Highland Speedway“SKI The Official Soda of The Highland Speedway”

(March 2, 2011) Highland IL – Scott Kuhn Promoter of the Highland Speedway is proud to announce that the Excel Bottling Company of Breese IL is returning to the Speedway for the 2011 season as the Official Soft Drink provider of the Highland Speedway and Excel’s flagship soda SKI is the Official Soda of the Highland Speedway.

Said Kuhn “Ski is the fan favorite here at the Speedway and with this being our 50th year of racing we couldn’t be more pleased to have Excel Bottling on board as they are celebrating their 75th year in business!”

To mark this tremendous occasion, Excel Bottling is Presenting Highland Speedway’s 50th Year of Racing Celebration – A night honoring our retired drivers.
A celebration of this size could not be held on just one night of racing. The celebration will be held June 11th and June 18th.

It will be a night full of exciting UMP races featuring UMP Super Late Models, UMP Steve Schmitt Modifieds and all the support classes that race weekly at the Speedway, including, new for 2011, The UMP Pro (Crate) Late Models In addition, there will be drivers from the by-gone era of the speedway on hand, plus other activities celebrating 50 Years of Racing are being planned.

Kuhn added” We are proud to have such a fine family run business like the Excell Bottling Company support The Speedway, as we look forward to more families attending the races this year.”

The 2011 season at The Speedway will kick off with a car show at Larry’s Tire / WRP Speed shop on Popular Street in Highland on March 26, from 11 am to 4 pm, a test and tune is scheduled for Sunday March 27th, and the opening night of the 2011 racing season at the Highland Speedway Celebrating 50 years of Racing will be April 2, presented by WDLJ 97.5 FM The Rock.
