(Warrensburg, MO) – Opening night at Central Missouri Speedway is less than two weeks away as the excitement continues to build at the “fastest high-banked clay oval in the Midwest.”  This Saturday, April 9, a free car show takes place at the Matthews-Crawford American Legion Post 131 in Warrensburg from 10 am to 1 pm.  Bring the entire family out for some mid-day fun and meet drivers, take pictures with their cars and visit with other race fans.  Post 131 members will hold a breakfast fund-raiser early in the morning and then do it all again with a burger burn for lunch so bring your appetites too!  Post 131 is located on East Young street just east of the PCA Road exit from US Hwy 50 in Warrensburg.  Drivers interested in displaying their cars need to contact samonthemic@hotmail.com prior to Friday, April 8th for details and to reserve a car show spot.  Showtime for cars on display is 9:30 a.m.  Fans will be able to vote on the “best in show” for each of the four CMS car classes represented.

Once the car show concludes, join us at the speedway for the track’s lone pre-season practice session.  Gates will open at 4 pm; the driver’s meeting will take place at 6:30 with practice beginning at 7 pm.  Grandstand admission for the practice is absolutely free!  Pit passes will be $15.  Drivers displaying their cars at the car show will receive a complimentary driver pit pass to the practice session.  There will be grandstand seating available on the back stretch side of the speedway and limited concessions will be available for those in attendance.

This is the final week to purchase season passes, you may purchase and pick up season passes at this weekend’s evening practice session at the track.  Pricing (specials included):  Adults all 26 races just $300 / Seniors 65 and older all 26 races just $250.  Call Susan Walls at 816-229-1338.  This weekend’s activities also present a perfect opportunity for drivers to complete registration paperwork (all registration $60) and pickup a RaceCeiver radio, which are mandatory at the track in all divisions this year.   A reminder to our fans making their way to CMS via the I-70/Hwy 13 area at Higginsville; for up-to-the-minute detour status on Hwy 13 please visit http://maps.modot.mo.gov/timi/.

Special advertisement opportunities are abundant this year at CMS for businesses!  This year, we have added a special new way for businesses to advertise at the speedway by creating a special place in our weekly Track Report Program.  Participating businesses will receive a business card ad in the weekly program, complimentary race tickets, special weekly PA announcements, and company branding information on special-event flyers.  Contact Susan Walls at 816-229-1338 for pricing and details.  Last year, CMS drew 258 different drivers representing over 125 different hometowns!  Don’t miss your chance to advertise through the excitement of motor sports.  Visit the speedway’s official website at www.centralmissourispeedway.net.
