Lucas Oil Late Model SeriesWAYCROSS, GA (May 10, 2011) – The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will continue its’ 2011 racing schedule with events on Friday Night, May 13th at 34 Raceway in Burlington, IA and Saturday Night, May 14th at La Salle Speedway in La Salle, IL. Both shows will pay $10,000 to win and $700 to start.

The series events at 34 Raceway and La Salle will continue the Sunoco Race Fuels Road to Wheatland in 2011. Fifteen drivers with perfect attendance will be eligible for the $700 winners circle money once again as they make their way across America, heading to the 19th Annual DART Show-Me 100 at Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, MO.

Scott Bloomquist of Mooresburg, TN will be attempting to make Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series history next Friday Night at 34 Raceway. Bloomquist has won the last four series events, and that ties Earl Pearson Jr. of Jacksonville, FL for the most consecutive wins, a mark Pearson set a little over a year ago.

Bloomquist, 47, who leads the series all-time in wins with 31 victories, comes into the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series events at 34 Raceway and La Salle with a 100-point lead over Don O’Neal of Martinsville, IN. Jimmy Owens of Newport, TN is third in the series points standings followed by Pearson, and Dale McDowell of Chickamauga, GA who climbed into the top five of the points for the first time this season after last weekend’s events in Pennsylvania.

Rounding out the top ten in series points are; Mike Marlar of Winfield, TN; Dennis Erb Jr. of Carpentersville, IL; Steve Francis of Ashland, KY; Bub McCool of Vicksburg, MS; and Jared Landers of Batesville, AR.

The Quarter Master Rookie of the Year point’s standings are close as McCool leads Landers by ten points. Tyler Reddick of Corning, CA is third in the rookie points, just 40 behind McCool. Frank Heckenast Jr. of Frankfort, IL is currently fourth.

On Thursday Night, May 12th, there will be an ApplianceZone.com drivers meet and greet. The meet and greet will be held at Casa Fiesta Restaurant in the Fairway Shopping Center in Burlington, IA from 6PM – 8PM. Drivers attending the meet and greet will include Scott Bloomquist, Tyler Reddick, Frank Heckenast Jr., Mike Marlar, and Eric Wells.
