MARS DIRTcar SeriesMeeker, OK (June 3, 2011) – Brad Looney of Republic, MO has just served notice to the drivers of the MARS DIRTcar Series that he is serious about making a run at the 2011 MARS championship.  Looney led nearly every lap of tonight’s 30 lap feature enroute to his second victory of the season, with his first coming last Sunday at Monett Speedway in Monett, MO.
Looney raced side by side in the opening laps with polesitter Ronny Lee Hollingsworth of Northport, AL before making the pass for the lead on lap 3.  From there Looney was unchallenged as he extended his lead to six car lengths over Hollingsworth.  On lap 10, defending MARS champion Terry Phillips of Springfield, MO would get by Hollingsworth for second and set his sights on Looney.

With heavy lap traffic in front of him, Phillips was able to get close to Looney, but not close enough to make the pass as Looney raced to the checkered flag.  Jesse Stovall of Galena, MO and Jeremy Payne of Springfield, MO would round out the top five, respectifully.

Next up will be Saturday June 4, 2011 at the Salina Highbanks Speedway in Salina, OK.

The MARS DIRTcar Series would like to thank their sponsors for the 2011 season.  Hoosier Racing Tire, Libscomb Auto Group, Wrisco Aluminum, Leitle Car Quest Auto Parts, VP Race Fuels, Powertrain Industries, Ron Mitchell Racing Photos, Hatfield Racing Engines, Andy’s Frozen Custard, Arsenal Racing Graphics, Don Babb Motorsports, GRT Race Cars, Supermoon Graphics and Larry Shaw Race Cars.
