BUILDING SYSTEMS OF IL MINI SPRINT NATIONALS
(Macon, IL) Macon Speedway and Lincoln Speedway are proud to bring open wheeled action to the both tracks this year for the second annual Building Systems of IL Mini Sprint Nationals to keep you on the edge of your seats. The 2011 POWRi National 600cc Micro Sprint Series will compete in a three day event at the Lincoln Speedway on Thursday, June 16, then at the lightning quick Macon Speedway in Macon, IL on Friday, June 17, and Saturday, June 18. Come spend the weekend with us and watch some of the best POWRi Micro racing of the year. The Mini Sprint drivers will be competing for the $2,000 to win prize for Saturday’s display of their driving ability. Fans won’t be disappointed when they will witness a 33 car feature with 11 rows and a three wide start! The POWRi cars should put on quite a display when they roll into both towns; as well over 100 cars each day are expected to battle it out. Bring your friends and family for the ground pounding, wheel to wheel action that the Mini Sprint show will bring to town.
Thursday night’s events at Lincoln Speedway will include Pro Late Models, UMP Modified, UMP Street Stocks and 4 Cylinder Hornets. Gates will open at 5 pm with racing starting at 7 pm. Friday night at Macon Speedway the first ever Pro Crate Late Model Special will take place along with features from the Billingsley Towing Modified and Pro & Amateur Hornet divisions, plus the High School Hornets. Saturday night the open wheeled cars will take center stage as the POWRi National Midget series will also be joining the POWRi Mini Sprint division along with Billingsley Towing Modifieds, Touchstone Energy Sportsman and the UMP Street Stocks. Overnight camping is available at Macon Speedway for fans who wish to camp.
Macon Speedway offers fun family entertainment every Saturday night from April to September. With many fan favorite events on the schedule, including “Night of NASCAR Stars;” June 28 and Family Farmers Night featuring Kenny Wallace , the famous Herald and Review 100 to be held on July 7 which is UMP’s premier Summernational event, 2011 is stacking up to be a memorable year.
