DIRTcarNew Berlin, IL (June 15th, 2011) Brandon Sheppard claimed the biggest win of his young career on Saturday, June 4th at I-55 Raceway in Pevely, MO when he dominated the Northern Allstar Late Model Series (NALMS) main event and earned a $5,000 payday. The 18 year old from New Berlin, Illinois won the forty lap event by 3/4 of a lap over the second place finisher and lapped all but the top six cars. The win at I-55 Raceway was his third win in the last five Northern Allstar Late Model Series events. Brandon simply said “It felt awesome” and thanked the people who have helped him so far this year including fellow racer Jason Feger, his dad Steve Sheppard, Jr. and grandpa Steve Sheppard, Sr.

The next week, Brandon parked the late model and went to St. Francois County Raceway in Farmington, Missouri on June 11th and competed in a 410 Winged Sprint Car. Brandon brought home a heat race win and a solid run in the feature until he made contact with the outside and got upside down. Brandon will run a few more select Winged Sprint Car events throughout the 2011 season.

Brandon’s focus now turns to the UMP DIRTcar Summer Nationals, better known as the HELL TOUR, where he will run the entire 26 race series that goes from June 15th through July 16th. Brandon is looking for his first ever UMP DIRTcar Summer Nationals win.
