Mother Nature tried her best to bring another rain out to Quincy Raceways on Sunday July 3 but all she could muster was a measly sprinkle of rain that only delayed the start to the annual Titan Tire and Wheel Deery Brothers Summer Series event. The forty lap main event was a wild and wooly affair as several early race caution periods jumbled up the field Mi Murphy Jr. took the lead at the drop of the green flag but after four caution flags fell on lap six, Murphy slowed to a stop at the top of turn one ending his lead. Terry took over at that point with Jason Perry in hot pursuit but by lap seventeen, Denny Woodworth had charged through the field to make a run at the lead. Woodworth’s challenge ended when an incident with a lapped car brought his charge to the front to a halt. Neal then held Andy Eckrich at bay for three laps then Perry make a charge back into the second spot. Ray Guss Jr. climbed into contention for the lead on lap thirty five after making an early pit stop during an early race caution period putting the pressure on Neal for the lead. Guss made it interesting as he closed to within a few feet of Neal as the checkered flag fell. Neal took his nineteenth win in series history over Guss in second, Any Eckrich in third, Jay Johnson in fourth and

Nate Beuseling in fifth. Jay Johnson, Tyler Bruening and Keith Pratt took the heat race wins while Denny Woodworth grabbed the B-Main win.

Steven DeLonjay cruised to his fourth feature win of the year in the Miller Lite UMP Modified feature event with Shawn Deering chasing him throughout the twenty five laps. Deering settled for second followed by Vance Wilson in third, Dave Wietholder in fourth and Jared Schlipman in fifth in a rare green to checkered event. Deering and Schlipman were the heat race winners.

Joe Bliven made it a clean sweep in the first ever appearance of the IMCA Northern Sport Mods at Quincy Raceways. Bliven won both his heat and the feature event that also went green all the way to the checkered flag. Brandon Dale scored second place followed by Roger Dresden in third, Dean Kratzer in fourth and Tony Dunker in fifth.

Abe Huls took the Triple R Performance Engines IMCA Stock Car feature win in dominating fashion by out distancing Arron Brocksieck in second, Terry Houston in third, Jerry Jansen in fourth and Kevin Tomlinson in fifth. Jerry Jansen and Abe Huls took the heat race wins.

Steve Carlin managed his second straight KRNQ Pepsi Inside Track Hobby Stock main event win over Jake Powers in second, Wes Mayfield in third, Brandon Symmonds in fourth and Nathan Anders in fifth. Carlin and Mayfield took the heat race victories.

Rookie Todd Nelson made it two feature wins in two nights as he dominated the twelve lap Summy Tire and Auto Center Wild Things. Nelson held off Bob Thompson in second, Seith Woodruff in third, Craig Bangert in fourth and Austin Uppinghouse in fifth. Woodruff took the heat race win.

Quincy Action Hobby Night at the Races is up next at Quincy Raceways on Sunday July 10 featuring the Summy Tire and Auto Center Dash for Cash for the top eight in points in the Budweiser IMCA Late Model Division.
