Belle-Clair SpeedwayGreat weather and a super racy track provided awesome racing for the fans at Belle-Clair Speedway last Friday night on Kids Caring for Kids with Cancer Night! The UMP Super Late Models produced its seventh different winner this season as the # 28 John Beck from the Springfield Ill. Area was able to hold off the always hard charging Mark Voigt. This was Beck’s first ever feature win, in his racing career. He had won many heat races and a few dashes but the features had always been elusive. Rolling his car into Victory lane was a sweet moment for John & his hard working crew! Now that he knows the way there maybe the second one will come soon!

The UMP Modified division also produced a real exciting barn burner as Paul Bauman, Steve Lach, Dean Hoffman & Jimmy Cummins put on quite a show! Bauman & Lach would find themselves swapping the lead many times over the first 12 laps. Bauman’s machine suffered mechanical failure on lap thirteen forcing him to the infield where he could only watch. Lach would take command on the restart and never look back. Cummins ran a strong second his best finish of the year. Brett Korves fought his way to third with Hoffman fourth. Steve Lach became the fourth multiple feature winner this season in the modified division.

In the UMP Sportsman class Stu Springer used the inside groove to power his #14 Chevy to his first feature win this year. He became the eighth different winner in this division in 2011. Current point leader Mark Schaefer worked Springer the last eight laps but could not find enough to get around him and settled for second. Jason Keller the southernMissouriinvader finished third followed by John Schrand & Brian Shubirg.

Bryan Baker in the UMP Pure Stocks was pressured hard by Dustin McClintock and Randy Dietzel but continued to show a new found poise and motored home to edge out McClintock for his first feature win this year. Baker becomes the eighth different winner in the Pure Stock class in 2011.

The Pro 4 Stocks are quickly becoming a fan favorite at Belle-Vegas. Ryan Emig & Jordan Suhre continued their season long battle. One and two in the point standings, Emig nicknamed the “Rhino” closed the points gap by scoring his track leading fourth feature win already this season. Suhre was second. Charlie Durbin made his first appearance in 2011 and finished a very strong third followed by Mark Crady and Trevor Isaak.

Belle-Clair Speedway takes a vacation this Friday July 15th. We come back strong to start the second half of the season Friday July 22nd with “SCOUT NIGHT” Sponsored by the Gateway Grizzlies. Izzy the Mascot will be on hand with many free giveaways. All Scouts in uniform get in Free! All 5 Great UMP classes will be racing!!!
