FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

This past Monday, Eric Turner spent the day with Level 1 Motorsports at Florence Motor Speedway in Timmonsville, South Carolina. He tested a NASCAR Camping World Series Truck at the half-mile facility. “It was great to get behind the wheel,” stated Turner. Those trucks are so heavy and have so much power, I really enjoyed the test.” Turner went through a series of runs during day, figuring he made approximately 45 laps.

He caught the attention of Level 1 Motorsports too. Managing Member and Crew Chief James Martin had high praise for Turner. “Eric did a phenomenal job. The track we tested on was real technical, especially corner entry, all the way to the middle of the turn. Eric ran the proper line. He hit his marks, and put together good clean solid laps. He was extremely consistent, posting the fastest times of our four competitors,” said Martin.

Level 1 Motorsports, under the current name is in a period of huge growth. They are transitioning from Indianapolis to their new shop in Monroe, NC. Jim Blankenbaker, who formerly operated Blankenbaker Motorsports with sponsorship from Blackwater USA, also is heavily involved with the team. However, it’s been several years since he’s been involved at the NASCAR level. The team has the resources of Bobby Hamilton Racing and equipment from other teams too. Martin and Blankenbaker met in 2009 and felt like now was the time to get involved in NASCAR again.

For Eric, a season which began with a lot of uncertainty has really progressed. He has split time with three different dirt late model teams, still running with all three from time to time. Turner’s new dirt modified has been exceptional right out the box. He’s raced with John McGrath at Lebanon I-44 Speedway, and made his first trip to Eldora Speedway to run the Dirt Late Model Dream in June.

Eric would like to thank the team owners who have allowed him to race for them this season. He is also in the process of working on securing some funding for the October NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at Martinsville Speedway. The team will be meeting with him again in the near future to discuss what’s next.
