(Macon, IL) Macon Speedway welcomed Touchstone Energy to the 1/5^th mile dirt track Saturday for an evening of exciting night of stock car racing. They have sponsored the Sportsman division each of the last three seasons.

Dave Crawley, Jr. won the topless 40 feature last week in the Touchstone Energy Sportsman class and returned for another night of racing, once again finding victory lane. Crawley took off from the first green lap and led the full 15 laps en route to his second feature of 2011. The real race became the battle for second as Nick Macklin, the current points leader, overtook Dennis Vandermeersch for the spot late in the race. The top three drivers received bonus bucks from Touchstone Energy, including $100 for the winner (Crawley) and $50 each for the second and third place cars (Macklin and Vandermeersch). Scott Landers of Taylorville was fourth and Danny Smith of Argenta was fifth.

Crawley almost won his second feature of the night in the Billingsley Towing Modified division but settled for third behind Jeremy Nichols and Guy Taylor. The bottom groove was the lone groove for this feature but Crawley tried to make things interesting by using the top side. He was unable to run to success as he nearly struck the wall, slowing him down, allowing Taylor to grab second. Nichols led all 20 laps, getting his third feature of the year. Cody Bauman of Eureka took fourth with a great run and Aaron Burcham snatched fifth.

Brian Diveley won the Chevrolet Late Model feature for the second time this season. Running away with the feature, which ran with no cautions for 25 laps, Diveley was untouchable by the field. He weaved his way through the lapped traffic. Former Herald & Review 100 champion Rick Standridge had a second place finish, his best of the year. Rodney Standerfer and John Beck finished third and fourth with Jim Moon placing fifth in the A-Main.

Mike Pickering looks like the same unstoppable monster he was when he was winning track championships in the Street Stock division years ago. He took his third in-a-row for and the Russell Trucking trophy. Although he claims to not be running for points this season, he is making progress for a top ten. Bobby Beiler, who leads the points, was second. Gene Reed finished third with Nick Justice fourth and Mike Pundt, Jr. finishing fifth.

Adam Webb won his fifth Pro Hornet feature and cut into Heidi Hames’ points lead. Hames finished third with Jeremy Reed in second, and then Brett Embry in fourth also putting the defending points champion Fred Reed, Jr. in fifth.

Jerad Matherly was in victory lane for the second time this season. Derek Peters snuck into second place as he passed Brady Reed for third. Jimmy Goodrich was fourth and Kenneth Reed rounded out the top five.

The next program at Macon Speedway is the make-up of the rained out 31^st Annual Herald & Review 100. Top UMP Chevrolet Late Model drivers will be on hand for the 100 laps of mayhem and madness. UMP Billingsley Towing Modifieds will also run Thursday night. That will lead to a night of open wheel racing and the make-up of the 2^nd Annual Building Systems of Illinois Mini Sprint Nationals and POWRi Midgets next Saturday night.
