Springfield RacewaySpringfield,Mo.-A 30 minute rain shower Sat afternoon at the Springfield Raceway helped to enhance the tracks reputation of the Quick-Quarter as 90 raceteams checked into the pits on Reliable Chevrolet Night and fans were treated to side by side action all night long.Current USRA Modified point leader Jackie Dalton found himself back into the winners circle while Veteran Larry Tindle got his season back on track by putting on a perfect performance in the Reliable Chevrolet B-Mod Special event.

In USRA Modified action,Erik Maggard grabbed the pole spot with point leader Jackie Dalton along side as the second half of the season got underway.Maggard grabbed the opening lead with Dalton,Bobby Pearish,Brian Green and John Yeoman III following. The races only caution waved on lap 1 as Darrell Jackson spun up high in turn 3 bunching the field-up.On the restart,Maggard quickly jumped to the lead as Pearish was riding the top groove as Dalton found his car working best on the low side. With Maggard using the low groove,Pearish was making up ground quickly as Dalton stayed close behind. On lap 12, Maggard went to the top side as Pearish had been applying heavy pressure.A little contact between the top 2 in turns 4 and then turn 2 allowed Dalton to quietly close-up the gap as a great battle was behind this trio including Green,Kyle Slagle,Jerry Lankton,Jody Tillman and Yeoman. On lap 14,Maggard and Pearish made contact in turn 2 slowing both drivers up as Dalton shot to the low side to take the lead.Pearish was able to get around Maggard for the second place spot but was never able to run down the 4 time track champion.Following the lead duo to the line was early leader Maggard, points runner-up Jody Tillman and John Yeoman III in the top 5.DEfending champion and winner of the last 2 features Mitch Keeter deveolped problems during hotlaps and never made the feature call.

Reliable Chevrolet and GM Performance Parts presented the 2nd annual B-Mod special and a struggling veteran Larry Tindle of Springfield put on an outstanding performance in the caution free feature event.Tindle who was the high point car in the qualifying heats, redrew the number 1 spot for the feature event. After driver introductions and an outstanding 4 wide salute,The B-Mods who week in and week out were ready to go Green.Tindle jumped to the early lead in his 602 GM Crate Motor while Jared Thulin,Andy Beauchamp,Terry Beckham Sr,and defending event winner Jon Yeoman Jr were battling. For the opening 9 laps it was nip and tuck as Beauchamp would nip Tindle at the line for the opening 3 laps.Tindle then would take the lead officially on lap 4 as it was near photo calls. This duo pulled away from an all-star field.Terry Beckham Sr was having his best run of the season as the veteran moved into third place with Thulin beside him. With side by side action all over the track,Top runners such as Scott Drake,Point leader bobby Maggard Jr,defending champion Wayne Graybeal,Sean Williams and others were fighting for positions. At lap 12,Tindle would open up the lead and was near perfect in grabbing his first win of a rough 2011 season.Beauchamp crossed in the runner-up spot as Beckham Sr,Yeoman Jr and Graybeal completed the top 5.19 of the 23 starters finished on the lead lap in the caution free event.

Midwest Modz point leader Trevor Drake survived several caution during the early portion of the featrue and withstood several challanges from Rusty Forrest in grabbing the feature win.Outside front row starter Matthew Thulin spun at the start of the feature and his night ended early as he looked to maybe be able to contend for his first Springfield win.Drake would find Forrest pulling even on the restarts, but during the green runs, the 4th generation driver pulled away.Following Drake and Forrest to the stripe was Gary Krebs,Sam Petty and Shawn Eggman.

Legends point leader Dave Comer took the opening lead and held off several challanges during the middle stages of the feature to record the win in another action packed Legends event.Defending track champion Justin Comer was able to get back on track and record the runner-up spot as Wayne Johnston early season point leader Park Jones and early contender Mike Hailman completed the top 5.

In PureStock action,James Redus took the top spot from early leader and current point leader Jack Hamer on lap 3 to grab the victory despite Hamer closing quickly in the latter stages. Following the lead duo to the line was hard-charging Wayne Morris,Philip Schloesser and Bret Testerman.

StreetStock point leader Bryan Tillman withstood a strong challange from Steve Morton to grab the feature win in a caution free event.Brad gideon and Tim Petty followed at the stripe.

Action continues next Sat ngiht at the SpringfieldRaceway in the Transport Graphics Championship Chase featuring USRA Modifieds,B-Mods,Midwest Modz,Legends,StreetStocks and PureStocks.Grandstand Gates open at 5PM with Racing to start at 7:15PM.
