AMES, HAUDENSCHILD, WOLFGANG’S, SMITH, CARSON, LASOSKI & TROSTLE TO SIGN AUTOGRAPHS IN BOB’S GARAGE IN MUSEUM NEXT WEEK

KNOXVILLE, IOWA  (August 5, 2011)  –  Following last year’s 50th Goodyear Knoxville Nationals, it only seems appropriate that three of the next generation of sprint car racers will appear in the “Sixty Minutes in the Trostle Garage with…“ autograph sessions next week in the National Sprint Car Museum as the sport’s biggest event begins its next fifty years.  Ohio ‘young guns’ Zach Ames and Sheldon Haudenschild, son of National Sprint Car Hall of Fame inductee Jac Haudenschild, have agreed to open up the series of meet-and-greet sessions in the museum on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m.  And, later that afternoon at 3:30 p.m., up-and-comer Robby Wolfgang will sign autographs with 1977 Knoxville Nationals winners Doug Wolfgang (driver) and Bob Trostle (car owner).

In addition to Wolfgang on Wednesday, Trostle will host Danny Smith and Shane Carson in his re-created garage on Thursday afternoon at 3:30 p.m.  And Bob Trostle will host Danny Lasoski at 3:30 p.m. on Friday afternoon.  Wolfgang, Trostle, Lasoski and Carson are all inductees into the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame.  Museum curator Tom Schmeh said today, “I really appreciate the willingness of young sprint car drivers like Zach Ames, Sheldon Haudenschild and Robby Wolfgang to come in and sign autographs in the museum.  This generation of ‘Facebook kids’ really is the future of our sport, so it is exciting to see them get out and make the face-to-face connection with fans.  And, it is great to see the veterans like Bob Trostle, Doug Wolfgang, Shane Carson, Danny Lasoski and Danny Smith do the same thing.  I think this on-going fan-friendliness by the teams really bodes well for the future of the sport of sprint car racing.”

The schedule for the “Sixty Minutes in the Trostle Garage with…” autograph sessions will be released early next week.  Fans are encouraged to visit the non-profit museum’s web site at www.sprintcarhof.com.
