Springfield,Mo.-The Transport Graphics 2011 Chase for the Championship comes to an end Sat night at the Quick-Quarter of the Springfield Raceway presented by Casey’s General Stores as drivers fight for their final positions in the point standings with all 5 classes competing featuring the USRA Modifieds, B-Mods, Legends, Midwest Modz and Purestocks.The Speedway will be running Special events after the Season Championship Race Sat night.
USRA Modified point leader Jackie Dalton of Carthage is looking for his 5th SpringfieldRaceway title and the battle behind Dalton is very tight as Springfield’s Erik Maggard holds a very slim second place over defending champion Mitch Keeter by only 5 points while Branson’s Jody Tillman has rallied back and is only 15 points out of the second place spot.THe field weekly at springfield in the USRA modifieds has the most talent as any track around.
Springfield area veteran Bobby Maggard Jr goes into this Sat night with only a 10 point lead over 2-time Monett B-Mod champion JC Morton while Gary Rodocker of willard is setting in a solid third place spot in this very competitive class weekly as a lot of talented drivers on the roster.
Dave Comer of Joplin has clinched the Legend Car title, but the real race is for runner-up spot as defending champion Justin Comer,Wayne Johnston and Park Jones go to battle.Only 6 points separate J Comer from Johnston.Johnston a former Springfield weekly driver from years past has relocated to Rolla but has added alot to the exciting Legends.
Fourth Generation driver Trevor Drake of Webb City has wrapped up the Midwest Modz title and Niangua’s Sam Petty is a solid second place,but the dog-fight for third place finds Gary Krebs,last weeks winner Rusty Forrest and “Gentleman” Randy Belk all fighting for spots.This second year class has grown to an average of 20 cars per night at SpringfieldRaceway with alot of young talent.
Ava’s Jack Hamer will add a SpringfieldRaceway PureStock title to his StreetStock championship as the quiet gentleman has clinched the 1st PureStock championship under Jerry Hoffman and Doug Bland’s ownership of the track.The real battle will be for third place as Oklahoma’s Wayne morris has locked-up the second place spot.James Redus,Oklahoma’s Jeremy Thulin,Young Bret Testerman and newcomer Philip Schloesser race for a top 5 finish.
Grandstand Gates open at 5PM with hotlaps starting at 6:30 and Racing at 7:15 sharp.Grandstand General Admission is only $10 for Adults while kids 6-12 are $5 and under 6 Free.
