Lee’s Loan Championship Night at the Highland Speedway

HIghland SpeedwayHIGHLAND IL (September 10th 2011) It’s Lee’s Loans Diamond Dig Championship Night at the Highland Speedway this Saturday (Sept 10). The drivers in all divisions will have their last chance of earning points for the 2011 50th Anniversary season at the Speedway as well the ladies in attendance will have a chance to “dig” for gold on the front straight during intermission.

In the Becker Jewelers Late Models, defending Champion Chad Zobrist has a 157 point lead over Mike Schulte and a 175 point lead over third place Paul Bailey, expected to race at the speedway for the honor of winning the last race of the 2011 50th Anniversary Championship season is Mark Faust, Michael Kloos, Rick Salter plus more of your Highland favorites.

In the Steve Schmitt Modifieds, Mike Harrison will not be returning as Champion in 2011 as Dean Hoffman sits in first place with a 77 point lead over Steve Lach, Brian Bielong sits in third 140 points out. Harrison who is the current UMP point’s leader sits in 14th this season at Highland.

In the Pro Late Model Division Mark Oller looks to add another Championship in a different division at the Speedway as he has a 95 point lead over Bobby Martintoni and a 301 point lead over Travis Horner.

The Sportsmen division Rob Lee leads the way in front of Steve Stevenson and Nathan Schmitt.

The Factory Stock class is down to the wire as they will run a makeup feature to start their night. Currently Jake Hewett sits just 23 point ahead of Jeff Buss and only 47 points ahead of third place T J Eilers. The championship will definitely come down to the last lap of the season.

The Sport Compact Division also has a feature to make up which could shake up the current standings, While Trevor Isaak has a 114 point lead over second place Jordan Suhre, the battle for positioning in the rest of the Sport Compact Divisions will come down to the last feature of the season.

The evening activities will start early. Hot Laps will be at 5:45 and racing will start at 6: pm sharp.
