The 2011 race season is quickly coming to a close as only one more point’s event is left on the calendar as well as the final night for the King of the Hill Front Row Challenge on September 25. Joey Gower, Jason Perry, Michael Long,Terry Houston, Jake Powers and Kimberly Abbott scored feature event wins during the Summy Tire and Auto Center Night at the Races on Sunday, September 11.

Joey Gower got pastKeith Pratton the eighth lap of the Budweiser Late Model feature event and went on to a dominating win a the checkered flag. Pratt held onto the second spot followed by Matt Bailey in third, Jason Perry in fourth and Denny Woodworth in fifth. Woodworth and Perry were the heat race winners.

Jason Perry was the big winner as he captured the Summy Tire and Auto Center Late Model Shootout for the top 10 in track point’s that were in attendance. Perry took home the $700 winners check after drawing the pole position for the twenty lap event. Perry led all twenty laps with Denny Woodworth nipping at his heals for the final seventeen circuits. Woodworth settled for second followed by Matt Bailey in third, Joey Gower in fourth andKeith Prattin fifth.

Michael Long andMark Burgtorflooked like they would repeat last weeks performance in the Miller LIte UMP Modified main event with the two dicing back and forth for the lead over the first twenty laps of the twenty five lap main event but Burgtorf’s ride went up in smoke on the twenty first lap giving Long the chance to finish the race uncontested for his sixth feature win in a row and his seventh in nine attempts this season. Steven DeLonjay managed to take second followed byJared Schlipmanin third, Kenny Wallace in fourth and Dave Wietholder in fifth. Burgtorf and Jake Griffin were the heat race winners. DeLonjay’s second place finish was enough to seal up the Track Points Championship for the 2011 season overJared Schlipman.

Terry Houstonlaid claim to his second feature win in a row in the Triple R Performance Engines IMCA Stock Cars. The non points event was ran for no points, just cash.Andrew Griffinsettled for the second spot after pressuringHoustonfor several laps for the lead.Aaron Brocksieckgrabbed third followed by Abe Huls in fourth and Jerry Jansen in fifth. Brocksieck holds a slim five point advantage overHoustongoing into the Season Championship event on September 18.

Jake Powers put on a dominating performance in the KRNQ Pepsi Inside Track Hobby Stock main event as he grabbed the lead on lap six and held off all challenges to take the feature event win. Bobby Anders claimed the second spot followed byNathan Anders, Steve Carlin and Nathan Hayes.Jim PowellandJeremy Busswere the heat race winners. Carlin now holds seemingly insurmountable twenty two point advantage over Powers going into the Season Championship next week.

Kimberly Abbott made it two in a row and her third for the season by taking the feature event win in the Summy Tire and Auto Center Wild Things. Craig Bangert settled for second followed by Casey Kendrick in third, Brandon Lambert in fourth and Austin Uppinghouse in fifth. Abbot made it a clean sweep as she also captured the win in the heat race. Sieth Woodfuff holds an eight point lead going into the final night of point’s racing next week.
