Springfield Raceway To Award USRA Modified National Points Race in Larry Phillips Memorial Sat Night

Springfield RacewaySpringfield,Mo.-While the points battles for the regular season are over at the Springfield Raceway, the Quick-Quarter is now heading for the Big 4 Specials with the first being Sat night with the running of the Larry Phillips Memorial presented by Home-Pro. This event will feature the classic battle between the MARS and MLRA Regional Touring LateModel Series with Jeremy Payne the defending event champion.

After returning from Boone,Iowa,SpringfieldRaceway owners Jerry Hoffman and Doug Bland have announced the the A-Mods will be given USRA National points in this $500 to win $100 to start special race.”The race in the National championship has some drivers who can move around in the standing and we at SpringfieldRaceway want the drivers to have a chance to better themselves so we will sanction the race with USRA towards national points.” quoted Hoffman.Looking at the top 20 at least 8-12 of those drivers are close by the SpringfieldRaceway.

In an additional announcement, the PureStocks will run under area track rules that compete Sat night.They will need to bring a copy of their home track rules that they compete at regularly.They will be checked in out Tech area so they need to remember to bring a copy of the rules for PureStocks.

B-Mods running the GM Performance 602 Crate motor will have to weigh 2500 LBS with 50 Lbs of that in front of the motor plate.Cars running a powerglide must weigh 2475 with 25 Lbs in front of the motor plate and Crate motors running a clutch weigh 2450 Lbs.The popular midwest modz will also be competing along with the exciting Legends.Added money in all classes will make this an outstanding event in the Quick-Quarters  Final 4.

In case of incliment weather the Speedway has announced that Sat October 1st will be the rain-date.

Grandstand gates open at 4:30 with hotlaps at 5:30 and Racing at 6:30PM. Open draw and passing points will be used for the Support classes of USRA Modifieds,B-Mods,Legends,PureStocks and Midwest Modz.Draw cut-off will be at 5:45 and local drivers meeting at 5PM
