Knoxville Raceway(BATESVILLE, ARKANSAS) The Billy Moyer Racing (BMR) team brought a brand-new Victory Circle by Moyer racecar to the Columbus Speedway in Columbus, Mississippi on September 23-24 for the 22nd Annual ‘Magnolia State 100.’ The decision to unveil the new car proved to be a smart one for the #21 team, as Hall of Famer Billy Moyer picked up his unprecedented eighth ‘Magnolia State 100’ title!

On Friday night, Billy laid down the second fastest lap in his group during the qualifying session at the “Baddest Bullring in the South” and later won his loaded heat race. After starting from the pole position of the 100-lapper on Saturday evening, Billy grabbed the top spot on the first circuit and held the point for the entire distance. It was not easy; however, as “Mr. Smooth” survived a couple of close calls in lapped traffic to record the hefty $20,011 payday. Billy and the team celebrated in victory lane for the twelfth time in 2011 by defeating Bub McCool, Eric Cooley, Brian Rickman, and Morgan Bagley. Full results and coverage is available at www.dirtondirt.com.

“I have to thank my whole team for working so hard on this new car and getting it ready for Columbus,” quoted Moyer yesterday via telephone. “It was probably only 75% ready to go for that race, but it got the job done. There were a couple of hairy moments, but luckily I was able to get through the traffic to get the win. We have worked some late nights finishing up the car this week in preparation for Knoxville. Hopefully, it performs as well as the car we took up there a year ago. It would be really special to repeat at Knoxville this weekend!”

Billy and his #21 team will now turn their sole focus to the 8th Annual ‘Lucas Oil Late Model Knoxville Nationals’ at the Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa from September 29-October 1. A pair of $7,000 to win Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series programs will kick off the three-day extravaganza tonight and Friday evening at the 1/2-mile complex, while Saturday’s 100-lap finale will pay $40,000 to the winner. The high-definition cameras of the SPEED Channel will be on hand to tape all of the wheel-to-wheel action for broadcast in a matter of weeks. Billy will be looking to repeat his 2010 performance at Knoxville, as he swept all three races a year ago!
