Lucas Oil Late Model SeriesBatesville, Arkansas (10/20/11) – Jared Landers clinched the 2011 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) Quarter Master Rookie of the Year honors over the weekend as the tour concluded its season at the 31st Annual U.S. Steel Dirt Track World Championship presented by Sunoco Race Fuels.

Jared completed the 2011 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) season over the weekend in the 31st Annual Dirt Track World Championship at Atomic Speedway (formerly KC Raceway) in Chillicothe, Ohio. With 90 Super Late Models registered for the mega-event, rains set in on Friday evening forcing the event to be postponed to a one day show on Saturday. With sunny and windy conditions reigning supreme, the action would commence at 4pm on Saturday afternoon, which resulted in a race track that quickly took rubber and made passing difficult. Via time trials Landers would start fifth in the heat and despite being involved in a early race tangle would battle to a fifth place finish, which relegated him to a b-main, where he started on the second row. Bad luck would find Landers again in the b-main, and as a result he had to utilize a series’ provisional to start the main event in the 25th position. Again in the feature, passing would be limited, but Landers would survive to advance eleven spots on his way to a 14th place finish at the checkered flag.

Jared claimed the 2011 Quarter Master Rookie of the Year honors and finished fifth in the overall tour standings. Full results and the final series’ standings are available at www.LucasDirt.com .

This weekend Jared will take his #777 Clint Bowyer Motorsports/Rocket/ECR Super Late Model into battle in the 17th Annual Coors Light Fall Classic at Whynot Motorsports Park (Meridian, Mississippi). Landers has competed in an Open Wheel Modified at the facility, but has never entered a Super Late Model event at the 1/3 mile oval. Friday night’s program will be headlined by time trials and heat race action, while Saturday’s schedule of events will include b-mains and the 100 lap finale.
