Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Announces Sponsors and Special Award Programs For 2012

Lucas Oil Late Model SeriesWAYCROSS, GA (February 13, 2012) – Officials of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series are excited to announce the many partners, contingency sponsors and numerous special awards programs for the 2012 season. With the recent announcement of the series paying out a new record of over 3.2 million dollars in 2012, numerous companies will be offering contingency awards and special category awards for racers that compete with the series to earn additional monies and product awards. The special category awards will give racers a chance to earn both cash and products at each event and at the series year-end awards banquet.

Allstar Performance will once again sponsor the “Allstar Performer of the Race/Year Award” in 2012. Drivers will win a special product award at each event under this category and earn points towards the “Allstar Performer of the Year”. The driver that earns the most Allstar points will win a $500 cash award and a $500 product award from Allstar Performance at the year-end awards banquet.

The ASi Racewear Challenge will offer racers a $25 cash award along with earning ASi Racewear points at each event. The driver that earns the most ASi Racewear points throughout the year will be presented a special custom made driver suit at the awards banquet.

COMP Cams will once again be the title sponsor of the “COMP Cams Engine Builders Challenge” offering participating engine builders a chance to win $2,500 cash and a $2,500 product award at the year-end awards banquet. This special points category will award points to the participating engine builders at each event based on the highest finishing driver with their engine. Numerous other product awards will also be given to the top two engine builders in COMP Cams points at the year-end awards banquet.

Dart Machinery will be the title sponsor of the Dart Winternationals points fund and award the driver that earns the most Dart Winternationals points a $5,000 cash award at East Bay Raceway Park. Dart Machinery will also be the title sponsor of the Dart Show-Me 100 held May 25-26th at Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, MO. This crown jewel event will once again be broadcasted on the CBS Sports Spectacular network.

DirtonDirt.com will be the title sponsor of a new points category on the series in 2012. The “DirtonDirt.com Crown Jewel Cup” will consist of a Ten (10) race mini-series among the crown jewel events on the series schedule. The driver that earns the most points in those Ten (10) races will receive a $1,000 cash award at the series year-end awards banquet, compliments of DirtonDirt.com. DirtonDirt.com will also sponsor the Fast Time provisional at the Dart Winternationals, awarding the driver that sets the fastest qualifying lap and does not transfer into the feature (through a Heat Race or B-Main) and will start 25th in the feature each night of the Dart Winternationals.

E3 Spark Plugs returns as the title sponsor of the E3 Spark Plugs TV Challenge. Drivers will earn E3 points only at the TV races in 2012. The driver that earns the most E3 points will be awarded a $2,500 cash award from E3 Spark Plugs at the year-end awards banquet. The runner up will win a $1,500 cash award as well (at the awards banquet) compliments of E3 Spark Plugs.

Optima Batteries has signed on as the new title sponsor of the “Optima Batteries Hard Charger of the Race/Year Award”. Optima Batteries will award the driver that advances the most positions in the feature event a $100 cash award at every series event in 2012. The driver that earns the most Optima Batteries Hard Charger points throughout the year will also be awarded the Optima Battery Hard Charger of the Year award at the series year-end awards banquet and receive a $500 cash award, compliments of Optima Batteries.

Ohlins Shocks will be the title sponsor of the OHLINS Shocks Chassis Builders Challenge for 2012. Participating chassis builders will earn points at every series race and the chassis builder that earns the most points will be crowned the “Ohlins Shocks Chassis Builder of the Year”. The chassis builder that earns the most points throughout the year will receive a $2,000 cash award and a special product award from Ohlins Shocks at the awards banquet.

Quarter Master will again be the title sponsor the “Quarter Master Rookie of the Year” program for 2012. The rookie of the year program for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series continues to get bigger every year for racers who elect to run for the “Quarter Master Rookie of the Year” program. This year’s program will pay $10,000 cash plus a $500 product award to the winner of the Quarter Master Rookie of the Year. Numerous other product awards, including a special Performance Bodies product award to the top rookie finisher at selected crown jewel events, will be presented to the top rookies at the year-end awards banquet. Racers have until March 31, 2012 to declare their intent to run for Rookie of the Year on the series in 2012.

Red Buck Cigars will again sponsor the Fast Time award giving a $100 cash award at every event to the driver that sets fast time. The driver that earns the most Red Buck Fast time awards throughout the year will receive a $500 cash award at the year-end awards banquet, compliments of Red Buck Cigars.

Sunoco Race Fuels will once again be the Official Fuel of the series and title sponsor of the “Sunoco Race for Gas” competition along with the Sunoco Road to Wheatland program. Drivers using Sunoco Race Fuels will earn Sunoco points at each event. The driver that earns the most Sunoco points during the season will be awarded a $3,000 cash award at the awards banquet and a $1,000 cash award to the runner-up, compliments of Sunoco. If a Sunoco driver enters every LOLMDS event through the Dart Show-Me 100 in May and wins the Dart Show-Me 100, that driver will receive a special Sunoco Race Fuels $2,000 cash award.

Sweet Manufacturing has come on board to really recognize and reward the many crew chiefs that work behind the scenes to keep these cars prepared and up front at every series event. Sweet Manufacturing will be the title sponsor of the “Sweet Mfg. Crew Chief of the Race and the Year” awards. The top crew chief of each race, based on voting by series officials, will receive a $100 cash award. Sweet Mfg. will pay out two special crew chief cash awards at the series year-end awards banquet. The crew chief of the driver that wins the series points championship will receive a $2,500 cash award. In addition to that, the crew chief of the driver that wins the most series feature events in 2012 will also receive a $2,500 cash award.

Wiles Drive Shafts will be the title sponsor of the “Wiles Drive Shafts Heat Race Winners” points category and award the driver that wins the most heat races throughout the year a special cash award of $500 and a product award at the year-end awards banquet.
