USCSAtlanta, GA – February 23, 2012 – The United Speed Contest Sanction (USCS) invades Magnolia Motor Speedway with a USCS winged Outlaw sprint car, USCS Modified and USCS 600 Sprint Car Series triple-header on Friday, March 2nd and Saturday, March 3rd for the “Frost Buster 250”. The event doubles as the Magnolia Motor Speedway 2012 season-opener and is a literal “Smorgasbord of Speed” featuring two full nights of high speed action at one of the Mid-South’s most popular venues. Race teams and race fans will be treated to a full menu of early season speed contests with racing in seven of the area’s most popular divisions.

The event includes the only 2012 season appearance of the USCS “Outlaw Thunder” Tour presented by Goodyear winged sprint cars at Magnolia Motor Speedway. The racing action features over 400 laps of racing around the 3/8 mile clay oval including 250+ laps of Championship main events.

Action kicks off on Friday night with a full racing program in five divisions including the mighty K&N Filters USCS Modified, Nesmith Late Model Dirt, the www.RockAuto.com USCS 600 Sprint Car Series mini sprint, Street Stock and Mini Stock divisions.

The Magnolia Motor Speedway 2012 season-opener then turns up the tempo on Saturday night with the addition of the 700+ horsepower, 1300 pound Outlaw style sprint cars of the United Sprint Car Series presented by Goodyear and the popular and powerful ground-pounding Super Late Models. Those two headliner divisions join the other five divisions that raced on Friday for an action packed night of high speed entertainment.

The world’s most powerful short track cars (USCS winged sprint cars) are expected to reach speeds exceeding 130 M.P.H. around the “MAG”. Top winged sprint car drivers from at least 6 states are already pre-entered for the third ever appearance of the USCS sprint cars to Magnolia Motor Speedway.

The event gives the K&N Filters USCS Modified division racers the first chance of the 2012 season to score Championship points on Friday night and then, try to improve their standings on Saturday night in the $1000 to win K&N Filters USCS Modified Touring Series Championship event. Veteran NASCAR Sprint Cup driver Ken Schrader is pre-entered to challenge the tough USCS Modified Touring Series regulars during his only second-ever appearance at “The MAG”

The www.RockAuto.com USCS 600 Sprint Car Series drivers have the same opportunity both nights as well in the chase for the second year title for the series that was new to USCS competition in 2011. Local favorite and hometown hero Bobby Zaiontz from Columbus, Mississippi was the USCS 600 Sprint Car Series National Champion in the series inaugural 2011 season.

The Frost Buster 250 event at Magnolia Motor Speedway event will feature the first chance of the 2012 season for the racers in the Super Late Model, Nesmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Models, Street Stock and Mini Stock divisions to shake down their rides before their weekly racing series Championship points begin later in the month.

Magnolia Motor Speedway is located just west of Columbus, Mississippi at the junction of US Highway 82 and US Highway 45 South.
