Columbus, MS – Saturday, March 3, 2012 – NASCAR Sprint Cup veteran driver Ken Schrader from Concord, North Carolina dominated the K&N Filters USCS Modified Touring Series portion of the “Frostbuster 250” at Magnolia Motor Speedway on Saturday night. Schrader, who brought his own Federated Auto Parts #9 open wheel modified ride to “The Mag”, took charge early by setting fast time in qualifying, then winning his heat race. This placed him in the K&N Filters Pole Position for the start of the 25-lap main event. The veteran of not only super speedway pavement wars, but, of a successful career of dirt track contests, took advantage of his starting position and led every lap of the Modified final to land in the www.RockAuto.com victory lane. .

Top gun K&N Filters USCS Modified Series driver, Chris Moore from Nesbit, Mississippi and Ben Stephens from Hattiesburg, Mississippi chased Schrader around the 4/10 mile clay oval lap after lap but could not pass the veteran Modified hot-shoe. There were several restarts (after caution flag periods) over the distance that pulled them up to Schrader’s rear bumper only to see him race away to a comfortable margin each time and he held an eight car advantage at the finish.

Ben Stephens won the battle for the runner-up spot with Chris Moore collecting the third place honors. Rusty Duncan from Tuscaloosa, Alabama finished in the fourth position and Brandon Poppenheimer from Nesbit, Mississippi rounded out the top five finishers.

Jimmy Cornell, who towed all the way from Broseley, Missouri to “The Mag” to race, led the next group of racers to the finish line in sixth place. He was followed by Robert Casada from Hattiesburg, Mississippi who finished seventh. The 2006 USCS Modified Touring Series Champion, Ben Reed from Munford, Tennessee finished in eighth place He was followed by Randy King from Hattiesburg, Mississippi in ninth place. Michael Turner from Paris, Tennessee rounded out the top ten.

Schrader had the fastest time of the evening around the high-banked 4/10 mile “Black Ice” oval with a lap of 16.643. Schrader then was the winner of the Aero Race Wheels First Heat Race. For his efforts, Ken Schrader collected the K&N Filters Pole Award. Chris Moore from Nesbit, Mississippi won the Wilwood Disc Brakes Second Heat Race and former USCS Modified Champion, Ben Reed rolled to victory in the FSR Racing Products Third Heat. Chris Moore garnered the K&N Filters Podium award for his third place finish in the A-Main. Michael Turner advanced ten positions in the A-Main to garner the Comp Cams “Hardcharger” Award.
