Turkey Classic Ready To Roll In Racing Season At Springfield Raceway And Southwest Missouri

Springfield RacewaySpringfield,Mo.-The start of the 2012 racing season will be kicking-off Sat March 10th as the 5th Annual O’Reilly Turkey Classic presented by Bad Boy Mowers will be in action.

Despite  an early week bleak forecast,the weather looks to be outstanding as Temps are to be in the mid 60’s near perfect conditions for a March event.

The Annual event will feature 4 classes with Late Models,USRA A-Modifieds,B-Modifieds and Legend Cars battling for some outstanding prize money as the Late Model feature winner will pocket $2,000 and making the A feature will pay $300. non-Qualifiers recieve $110 while the car entry fee is only $100. MLRA/MARS Type rules apply with the tire rule being the Hoosier WRS D55 or LM 40. Crate Late Models wil run under NE Smith Chevrolet rules but must have those tires on the rear of the car. Aurora,Mo Show-Me Series Champion Justin Wells is the defending event winner.

USRA A-Modifieds get their first chance to compete for National points as owners Jerry Hoffman and Doug Bland will be awarding USRA National points.This should be a real test as this event will not allow rear spoilers on the cars.USRA weight rules and chip rules apply and drivers may leave their USRA legal spoiler sides on.Tires that may run are the American Racer KK704 G60 or the Hoosier IMCa Stamped G 60. Grooving and siping is allowed. USRA and Springfield Raceway regular jody Tillman is the defending event winner. $1200 goes to the feature winner while making the A feature pays $400 to start.Non-Qualifiers recieve $110 and must run their last chance event. Car entry fee is only $100.

The ever popular B-Mods will be battling for $750 to win the feature while making the Main event pays $110 to start. Non-Qualifiers recieve $80 and the car entry fee is only $40.Springfield spec motors and Crate motor rules apply along with the chip rule.Spec motors must have the 7000 RPM chip while drivers running the GM 602 Crate motor must have a 6200 RPM chip.Springfield Raceway weight rules apply on the transmission option.IMCA legal Sport mods weight rule is 2450 min.and no added weight in front of mid-plate.Tires are American Racer KK704 G60’s or the Hoosier IMCA Stamped G 60. Grroving and sipping allowed.Iowa’s Jesse Sobbing is the defending event winner in his legal IMCa Sport mod from the 2010 race.

Legend Cars complete an exciting race card as INEX rules apply and the winner grabs $300 while it pays $35 to start the feature. No car Entry Fee.

Pit Gates open at 11:30 AM. Hotlaps are slated for 2:30. Draw cut-off is set for 3:30 and the drivers meeting is 4PM while racing begins at 4:30 with the first qualifying heat. Pit passes are $35.

The Grandstands open around 2PM and Adult Admission is only $20 for this opening race in Southwest Missouri and the first of the season at the track dubbed “The Quick-Quarter”.Kids prices are 6-12 $5 and under 6 Free.
