ASCS - American Sprint Car SeriesSUNSET HILLS, Mo. (March 12, 2012) – Entering the third night of National American Sprint Car Series (ASCS) competition, Loyet was comfortably riding sixth in overall points.

Loyet joined ASCS and their first visit to Cocopah Speedway in Yuma, Az. on March 9th and 10th seeking his first National tour victory only to be extremely disappointed.

Loyet started his first night of competition deep in his heat and was unable to pass enough cars to be locked into the A-main event.  Starting fourth in the B-main, Loyet felt comfortable to transfer through until a fellow competitor drove into him resulting in an unbelievable, frightening wreck.  Landing hard on the concrete barrier, Loyet’s car was destroyed and, obviously, ended his night.

Forced to roll out the backup car for Night Two of competition, Loyet Motorsports attempted to start fresh only to encounter more unforeseeable misfortune. While experiencing problems under the hood of the o5 Loyet Motorsports/Vacuworx International sprint, Loyet started and finished last in his heat. With assistance from fellow competitor Jason Johnson, the team was left with no choice but to change the motor before the B-main event.  Finishing fifth and transferring to the A-main, Loyet Motorsports thrashed to get the car set up for track conditions.  Loyet salvaged a 16th place finish for the night.

With a weekend off, Loyet Motorsports will regroup and chase triumph at Devil’s Bowl Speedway in Mesquite, Tx. on March 23rd and 24th.
