BRASSTOWN, N.C. (March 14) – With the $5,000 to win show scheduled for last Friday at the Boyd’s Speedway in Ringgold, Georgia getting wiped out due to inclement weather, the D&R Motorsports team has refocused their efforts towards this weekend’s ‘Spring Thaw’ at the Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap, Tennessee. The 11th annual running of the springtime event will take place this Saturday, March 17 at “The Gap.” A $10,000 top prize will be on the line in the unsanctioned program, which will be highlighted by a 60-lap main event. Ray Cook suffered problems early in last year’s ‘Spring Thaw’ at Bulls Gap, but took home the $10,000 win in the 2010 edition of the storied race.

Following the visit to the Volunteer Speedway this weekend, the #53 team will then turn their focus to the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series schedule. The next race for the cars and stars of the LOLMDS will be the annual running of the ‘Indiana Icebreaker’ at the legendary Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown, Indiana on Saturday evening, March 24. The one-day extravaganza at the 1/4-mile, semi-banked fairgrounds venue will be headlined by a $10,000 to win feature event. Ray will come into Brownstown next weekend tied for fourteenth in the LOLMDS point standings.

Additional information concerning the next two races on Ray’s schedule can be viewed online at www.VolunteerSpeedway.com and www.BrownstownSpeedway.com.
