March 15th, 2012 – The 2012 dirt track racing season kicks off this St. Patrick’s Day weekend in the St. Louis metro area with a double-header special event featuring the “Shamrock 40” at Belle-Clair Speedway in Belleville, Illinois on Friday night and the “Lucky 40” at Highland Speedway in Highland, Illinois on Saturday night.
Both events will have the UMP DIRTcar Super Late Model division headlining the action with each track’s 40 lap feature event paying $1,500 to the winner.
There will also be a “Cross Town Classic POT O GOLD” featuring a $1,000 bonus to any driver that can win both events. If no one wins both events, the $1,000 bonus will be paid to the top 3 best combined finishers of the two events with $500 going to the top finisher in both events then $300 for second and $200 for third.
The action on Friday night at Belle-Clair Speedway kicks off at 7pm. Other divisions racing this Friday at Belle-Clair Speedway will be the UMP DIRTcar Modifieds, UMP DIRTcar/AARA Sportsman & UMP DIRTcar/AARA Pure Stock divisions. The UMP DIRTcar Modifieds will be battling for $750 to win the main event.
On Saturday night, the action moves over to the Highland Speedway and will also feature the UMP DIRTcar Modifieds racing for $750 to win along with the Bomber(Street Stocks) and Hornet(Sport Compacts) divisions.
