Expanded 20th Annual DART Show-Me 100 just 60 Days Away!

Wheatland, MO (March 23rd, 2012) – The 20th Annual DART Show-Me 100 will take over Lucas Oil Speedway in just 60 days. Opening Night featuring the Lucas Oil MLRA is quickly approaching with only 22 days left on the countdown clock, but preparation is well underway for the Show-Me 100 set for May 24th – 26th. This marquee event draws drivers and fans from throughout the United States. The track hotline is already ringing off the hook for camping reservations, tickets, two-day reserved seat passes and details about the historic multi-day event. This year, exciting attractions and events have been added to keep fans entertained throughout the entire event.

Camping during Memorial Weekend at Lucas Oil Speedway Campground is a tradition for fans attending the Show-Me 100. The recently expanded Campground offers sprawling wooded and clear areas, two fishing ponds, a shower house and ample space to enjoy. Many visitors during the Show-Me 100 arrive early in the week as part of their vacation. This year daytime activities in the campground beginning on Wednesday, May 23rd, 2012 will include; Hillbilly Golf, Washers, Cornhole, Bad Mitten and more. A Cornhole Tournament is scheduled for Saturday morning at the Campground. The tournament will be regulation Cornhole played in a bracket style with cash prizes for the top teams. Registration is $40 per team, there is limited space on the 1st Annual Cornhole Tournament Bracket, so register your team of two, by following the link to claim your spot.

The Show-Me Beach will also be open for all to enjoy at Lake Lucas, throughout the event. Horseshoes, volleyball, beach activities and swimming will fill each day with tropical fun for fans of all ages. Lake Lucas will be open all week long for fishing, paddle boats and even some special water demonstrations. “We want to enhance the fan experience during this event, expanding to offer more daytime activities and entertainment throughout the week,” stated General Manager, Dan Robinson. “Make plans now to not only attend the 20th Anniversary of the DART Show-Me 100 at Lucas Oil Speedway, but come early and spend the day meeting drivers, swimming, fishing, playing in various tournaments and of course camping in our beautiful campground.” Helicopter rides will be available Friday and Saturday. Kids can enjoy a jumbo inflatable slide, bounce houses and even climb an giant rock wall. The Midway area at Lucas Oil Speedway will feature large static displays and interactive games. Multiple t-shirt, diecast and other vendors will be displayed throughout the event. Times and activities are tentative and subject to change.

If that’s not enough to keep you going, there is more! The Lucas Oil Late Model Simulator will give fans a chance to experience virtual laps and the Ozarks Coca-Cola Go-Cart Slick Track can give race goers a dose of live action, while challenging friends to a duel. The traditional Thursday night BBQ will follow practice, dinner is free with a pit pass or just $10 for all others. Practice is from 6 PM – 9 PM. A live band will perform on stage as practice wraps up. Also on stage Thursday night, the crowning of the 1st Annual Miss Show-Me 100, Miss Lucas Oil Speedway and Little Miss Lucas Oil Speedway set to take place at 8:30 PM.

To participate in the Miss Show-Me 100 (age 18-25), Miss Lucas Oil Speedway (age 12-17) and Little Miss Lucas Oil Speedway (age 5-11) contest, follow the links to complete the application, essay and submit with a head shot photo before May 4th. Finalists will be selected and notified by May 11th, and asked to participate in the final rounds during the Show-Me 100. One last thing, did we mention racing? The best of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series and the top drivers in the Lucas Oil MLRA will roar into Wheatland, Missouri for a chance at a place on the list of DART Show-Me 100 Champions. Thursday will kick off with practice from 6 PM – 9 PM, BBQ and music to follow. Friday will include Late Model Qualifying, Manufacturers Dash, Race of Champions and complete Pitts Homes A-Modified heats and feature race. Saturday will be the grand finale with the 100 lap feature event capping off the weekend. $30,000 will go to the driver in the 20th Annual DART Show-Me 100 Victory Lane on Saturday night! Only time will tell if a past winner will make a repeat appearance in victory lane, or if a new name will be added to the famed list of champions including; Scott Bloomquist, Billy Moyer, Terry Phillips, Ray Cook, Wendall Wallace, Freddy Smith, Jimmy Owens, Brian Birkhofer and Rick Auckland.
