Paducah International Raceway2012 RACE SEASON IS ALMOST HERE

Paducah, KY- March 23, 2012- “Gentlemen start your engines!!” The words race fans have been anxiously awaiting will echo over Paducah International Raceway on Friday, March 30th. All the UMP fan favorites including the Super Late Models, Pro (Crate) Late Models, Modifieds, Street Stocks, 4-Cylinder Warriors, and High-School Warriors will be in action. Pit Gates open at 4:00 PM. Grandstands open at 5:00 PM. Hot Laps start at 7:00 PM with Racing starting at 7:30 PM. Pit Admission is $25. Grandstands are $12. Children 12 and under are Free.

Defending Super Late Model Track Champion Kevin Cole managed to hold off Benton, Kentucky’s Tim Brown by a mere 10-points to win his third consecutive Championship. Can he hold Brown off for another season? 2010-2011 Pro (Crate) Late Model Champion Cary King held his lead over Vienna, Illinois’ Credence Mott to take his second Track Championship. Will King be able to hold off the competition heading into 2012? Murray, Kentucky, saw two of its natives battle it out for the 2011 Modified Track Championship. Defending Champion Justin Houston edged out Steve Ladd for his second consecutive Championship. Who will be the 2012 Modified Track Champion? In the closest race of the season, 2011 saw Tony Cruse win his first Street Stock Track Championship, edging out West Paducah, Kentucky’s Mike Watson by five-points. Does Cruse have what it takes to go for two-in-a-row? In 4-Cylinder action, Hunter Lyles held off 2010 Track Champion Kyle Clark to become the 2011 4-Cylinder Warrior Champion. 2010 High School Warrior Rookie of the Year Tya Cunningham raced to her first Track Championship in 2011 edging out runner-up A.J. Keeling. With Cunningham moving up to the Street Stock division, who will fill the vacated spot? All this and other great racing action is just weeks away!

Tickets are also currently available for the World of Outlaw Sprint Cars which will hit the high banks of Paducah International Raceway on Friday, April 13th. See top contenders including current points leader Donny Schatz, Sammy Swindell, Jason Sides, Kraig Kinser, Joey Saldana, 2011 Champion Jason Meyers, “King of Outlaws” Steve Kinser, and 2010 race winner Jac Haudenschild. The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will once again attempt to take the green flag on Saturday, May 5th. See Lucas Oil favorites including current points leader Dennis Erb, Jr., Steve Francis, Randy Korte, Johnathan Davenport, 2011 Champion Jimmy Owens, and 2011 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Rookie of the Year “The California Kid” Tyler Reddick.
