Lake Cumberland SpeedwayBurnside, KY-April 7, 2012- The Super Late Models would make their 2012 debut on Saturday evening at Lake Cumberland Speedway and Dustin Neat of Dunnville, KY would score the victory and collect a $1,500 payday. Other feature event winners included Russ Gabbert of Berea, KY in Modifieds, Keith Decker of Somerset, KY in Super Dirt Stocks/Sportsman, and Adam Gregory of Gray, KY in Front Wheel Drives.

Dustin Neat would take the lead at the drop of the green flag in the 30 lap Super Late Model main event and Neat and Michael Chilton, who would be running second, set a torrid pace and literally were running away from the field. Neat would close in on slower traffic on lap 18 and Chilton would close and the pair would race side-by-side for the lead when a caution would fly on lap 25, setting up a sprint to the finish. Chilton would pull alongside Neat again as the pair raced to the white flag, but Chilton would graze the outside wall in turn one on the final lap, giving Neat the breathing room he needed for the victory. Neat’s win would come behind the wheel of the his Red Buck/Neat’s Service Center/Keltner Contracting/Southern Rayz Tanning sponsored #25 Longhorn Chassis powered by a Vic Hill Race Engine. Chilton would finish second, with Joey Daniel finishing third. Joe King and Arnie Fields would complete the top five. Nine entries saw Chilton be the top qualifier at 13.213 seconds, while Chilton and Neat won the heats.

Russ Gabbert would stave off the repeated challenges of Tommy Gregory in the waning laps of the Modified feature event to score his second straight win in the open-wheel division. Gabbert’s victory in this event would come aboard the Brooks Sparks owned Brooks Sparks Racing/Lodge Hall Storage/AFCO Racing Products sponsored #J14 Bandit Race Car, Dargie Race Engines powered mount. Gregory would take runner-up honors for the second straight week, while John Smith, Virgil Parriman, and Chad Scott completed the top five. The remainder of the top ten would include Dustin Duncan, Ryan Jones, Jeff Richards, Mike Petrey, and James Jones. Thirteen entries would see Gregory be the fast qualifier at 14.580 seconds, with heat wins going Gregory and Gabbert.

Keith Decker would again be dominant in the Super Dirt Stock/Sportsman division main event by leading all 15 laps and scoring his second straight win in his unsponsored #2 machine. Chad Spradlin would score runner-up honors, with Johnny King claiming a third place finish. Michael Patrick and Daniel Stamper would complete the top five. Nine entries would see Decker also set fast time 15.700 seconds, along with winning a heat race, with Chad Spradling winning the other heat.

Adam Gregory would also be a repeat winner by taking top honors for the second straight week in the Front Wheel Drive divisions feature event in the seat of his Friends of Coal sponsored #22. Jayson Henderson would finish second, with Rusty Light taking third. Gregory would also win the heat.
