Wheatland, MO (April 12th, 2012) – In just two days the first official laps will roar around Lucas Oil Speedway. The facility is in tip top shape, friendly Lucas Oil Speedway staff are prepared for guests to arrive and the track is yearning for some racing action! Saturday night the Lucas Oil MLRA rolls into Wheatland for the annual event, Spring Thunder. The much anticipated Opening Night will feature the Pitts Homes A-Modifieds and the Carson’s Corner Napa Factory Stocks in action. Gates will open at 4:00 PM with the first 500 fans in attendance receiving a FREE 2012 Lucas Oil Speedway Magnet Schedule.
Hot Laps will kick off at 6 PM with racing at 6:30 PM. Adult tickets are $20, Seniors age 62 and up are $15, Youth age 6-15 just $5 and kids age 5 & under are always FREE! A Family Pass includes two adult admissions and up to three youth, for only $40. Show Your AAA Membership Card at the gate and receive $3 off any Adult or Senior General Admission Ticket. The Lucas Oil MLRA drivers have already contended in two series events in 2012. Republic, Missouri’s, Brad Looney won the series first event this season. Looney also claimed his first win at Lucas Oil Speedway on the series last visit to the Diamond of Dirt Tracks in 2011. Currently, Will Vaught of Crane, Missouri sits atop the Lucas Oil MLRA points standings, Terry Phillips from Springfield, Missouri is in second followed by Omaha, Nebraska’s, John Anderson. Saturday night will have a very talented field of the Midwests’ best late model drivers gunning for the $3,000 payday. In addition to an awesome on track show, the Lucas Oil Speedway Midway will be packed with attractions and activities for all ages. Sticking with the theme of “Spring Thunder”, Hickory County Emergency Management, The National Weather Service, KOLR 10 Mobile Weather Lab, Storm Chasers, and a storm shelter display will give fans a chance to learn proper steps to prepare their family and property for storm season. Fun for the kids will include a bounce house, jumbo slide, Frog’s Signs Jr. Fan Club special sign up night (wear your GREEN Jr. Fan Club Shirt) and a drawing for 10 JFC Kids to participate in an on track surprise!
