(BRASSTOWN, NORTH CAROLINA) Ray Cook, of Brasstown, North Carolina, picked up his third feature win of the young 2012 racing season on Saturday night, April 21 at the Green Valley Speedway in Glencoe, Alabama! Driving Joe Denby’s #27 MasterSbilt Gen-X machine, Ray laid down the fourth fastest time during qualifying and later won the dash to earn the pole position for the 30-lap feature event. The driver known as the “Tarheel Tiger” grabbed the top spot at the drop of the green flag and led wire-to-wire to claim the $2,000 payday over Ronny Lee Hollingsworth, Jake Knowles, Jackson Hale, and Brian Reese! Complete results from the unsanctioned race at GVS can be accessed by clicking on www.greenvalleyspeedway.com.

“I have to thank Joe (Denby) for giving me the opportunity to drive his equipment last Saturday at Green Valley,” stated Cook earlier today. “It was neat to give him his first-ever victory as an owner. I may drive his stuff more often in some of the smaller shows in the area in addition to driving for D&R Motorsports in the larger regional and national races. We have had to kinda restructure things around here a little bit since pulling off of the Lucas Oil deal, but I am excited to race more around home and hopefully we can rack up some more wins!”

Next up for Ray will be a trip back to Alabama for two more shows over the upcoming April 27-28 weekend. The World of Outlaws Late Model Series will sanction a $10,000 to win program on Friday night at the North Alabama Speedway in Tuscumbia, Alabama. On Saturday, Ray is set to tackle the Moulton Speedway in Moulton, Alabama for a $3,000 to win, unsanctioned tilt. Additional information on these two venues can be viewed online at www.northalabamaspeedway.com and www.moultonraceway.com.

Ray Cook would like to thank all of his supporters including: D&R Motorsports, Hicks & Ingle Company, MasterSbilt Race Cars, Race Engine Design, PPM Racing Products, A+ Moving and Storage Company, K&N Filters, PRC Racing, Real Racing Wheels, Bill Elliott Racing, James Cook Construction, American Race Tire, Bert Transmissions, Brodix Cylinder Heads, Chizmark & Larson Insurance Agency, DBR Starters, Delph Communications, Demon Carburetors, Eibach Springs, FK Rod Ends, Frankland Racing Supply, GW Performance, Integra Shocks, ISC Racers Tape, JB Performance, Mason Racin’, MSD Ignition, Peterson Fluid Systems, Schaeffer’s Racing Oil, Scott Performance Wire, Stealth Carburetors, Sweet Mfg., T&D Machine, Turbo Start Batteries, VP Racing Fuels, Wiles Driveshafts, and Wilwood.
