For the second consecutive year, the Lucas Cattle Company ULMA Late Models will make their way to California … California, Missouri that is for a pair of point’s-earning races at the close confines of Kyle and Carol Wirts’ beloved Double X Speedway. The first appearance takes place on Sunday, June 17th as a precursor to the annual Triple Crown Shootout, which rolls into the track on Sunday, July 1st.

The July stop at Double X, sponsored by Bonecutter Body Shop of California is locked in as one of four shootout events in which drivers have the chance to earn points at ULMA-affiliated tracks in a miniseries style shootout for added money. For both of the Double X appearances, all participating drivers must be ULMA members. For the June race there will be no entry fees, for the July event, officials will announce further details regarding entry fees and race dates for the Triple Crown Shootout. Last year, Brandon Imhoff dominated both appearances at the track with two convincing wins. For further details stay tuned to ULMA press releases or visit www.xxspeedway.com.

The lone ULMA-sanctioned race of last weekend was washed out at Callaway Raceway on Friday night but the track is ready to try once again this weekend to continue their season-long schedule of events. Current ULMA point leader Jason Russell has established early on that he is the man to beat at the Fulton, Missouri track and will look to hold off all challengers again this weekend when east-side racing resumes. Check out the track online at www.callawayraceways.com.

Drivers will make their second appearance of the season this weekend at Valley Speedway in Grain Valley, Missouri for some west-side Friday night action. This is the first of eleven ‘Fast Friday’ appearances throughout the summer at the paper-clip style quarter mile track located about twenty minutes from downtown Kansas City. A few weeks back, Chris Hawkins of Neosho, Missouri edged former ULMA champion Jason Bodenhamer to pickup an early season victory. Weekly action concludes Saturday night at Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Missouri. So far this season, large car counts have claimed track headlines along with a pair of former track champions, Tommy Cordray and Rylan Long claiming victories. Two weeks ago Rylan Long returned to form with a convincing win over a stellar field of peers. Jeremy Kelley and Lane Ehlert have used their strong starts to the season to find their way into a close battle for the track point lead heading into this weekend; for complete race information log onto www.lucasoilspeedway.com.
