Two of the biggest and fastest race tracks in the Kansas City region have combined forces to make an already scheduled big weekend of racing even bigger and more unforgettable! This August, the tracks will host the first-ever MO-KAN Sprint Car Shootout presented by Tompkins Industries and Impact Signs, Awnings, and Wraps/Impact4800.com!

The combined effort includes two powerful nights of action on Friday, August 17 and Saturday, August 18, at Lakeside Speedway in Kansas City, Kansas just off I-435 and Wolcott Drive. The best of the best in the American Sprint Car Series (ASCS) Warrior Region will take to Marc and Page Olson’s half-mile speed plant beginning their quest to claim a part of the $1,500 added prize money up for grabs during the shootout. As the race draws near, continue to check back to www.lakesidespeedway.net or call (913) 299-2040 for event details.

The final night of action for the shootout moves across the river to the ‘Historic Half Mile’ in Sedalia, Missouri, on Sunday, August 19 with the crowning of the champion. Although it seems like an eternity before another exciting Missouri State Fair begins, in reality, the hot August nights will be here before you know it with the crowning of the Missouri State Fair Champions in three premiere racing divisions, including modifieds, MLRA late models, and the Tompkins Industries MO-KAN Sprint Car Shootout presented by Impact Signs, Awnings, and Wraps/Impact4800.com to bring the 110th year of the Missouri State Fair to a close.

A special three-night mini point championship will determine the shootout champion over the course of the weekend. The standard ASCS point structure will be in effect. First place will take away an extra $500 with second receiving $400, third $300, fourth, $200, and fifth place claiming an extra $100. There are no special entry fees to compete and be eligible for the shootout and added prize money.

“I couldn’t be happier than to team up with Marc and Page and the entire crew at Lakeside Speedway to put this together for the drivers,” commented Missouri State Fair Speedway’s Clint Brown. “Then throw in two great companies like Tompkins Industries and Impact Signs, Awnings, and Wraps/Impact4800.com and we couldn’t be more excited for the weekend to get here.”
