Lucas Oil Late Model SeriesMUSCATINE, IA (May 17) – The Birkhofer Racing team invaded the LaSalle Speedway in LaSalle, Illinois on Saturday night, May 12 for the annual running of the ‘Spring Shootout.’ The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series once again presided over the one-day program at the 1/4-mile, high-banked bullring and a $10,000 top prize was on the line. Brian Birkhofer laid down the fastest lap in Group B during the qualifying session and later won his loaded heat race. After rolling off from the outside of the front row in the 50-lap feature event, Brian ran second for much of the distance before winding up a strong third in the final rundown behind only winner Don O’Neal and runner-up Jimmy Owens. Complete results from LaSalle can be viewed online at www.lucasdirt.com.

Next up for the #15b team will be a trip south with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series to the Batesville Motor Speedway in Locust Grove, Arkansas for the inaugural ‘Bad Boy 98’ on May 17-19. The huge weekend at BMS will kick-off with an open practice session on Thursday, while Friday will heat up with qualifying and heat races. Saturday’s portion of the program will include consolation races and the 98-lap feature event. The winner of the ‘Bad Boy 98’ will receive $10,000 plus a 2012 Chevy Camaro and second place will bank a cool $20,000.
