Tri-City Speedway(MENOMONIE, WISCONSIN) Jimmy Mars and his #28 team invaded the states of Missouri and Illinois over the Memorial Day holiday weekend for a pair of high-profile events. Jimmy’s best effort came on Sunday, May 27 in the annual running of the ‘Budweiser 50’ at the Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, Illinois. Jimmy won both his heat race and the dash to earn the pole position for the $10,000 to win feature event. The Menomonie, Wisconsin native hung around the front of the field, led laps 21-31, and eventually notched a strong runner-up performance behind only winner Billy Moyer.

Earlier in the weekend, the Mars Racing team was in the pit area at the immaculate Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Missouri for the 20th Annual ‘DART Show-Me 100.’ In Friday’s preliminary action, Jimmy timed in fifth fastest in Group B during Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series qualifying and later finished second in his loaded heat race. When the $30,000 to win ‘Show-Me 100’ rolled around on Saturday, Jimmy unfortunately ran into problems during the 100-lapper that dropped him to a twenty-third place effort. Complete results from both venues can be viewed online at www.dirtondirt.com.

Next up for the #28 team will be a pair of $3,000 to win programs in their home state of Wisconsin on June 1-2. On Friday night, the Mississippi Thunder Speedway in Fountain City, Wisconsin will welcome the DART Corn Belt Clash tour, while the Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, Wisconsin will play host to their Triple Crown show on Saturday evening.
