(Macon, IL) Macon Speedway and Lincoln Speedway are proud to bring open wheeled action to the both tracks this year for the third annual Building Systems of IL Mini Sprint Nationals to keep you on the edge of your seats. The 2012 POWRi National 600cc Micro Sprint Series will compete in a two day event at the Lincoln Speedway on Friday, June 22, then at the well prepared, lightning quick Macon Speedway in Macon, IL on Saturday, June 23rd. Also on tap are the POWERi and Badger National Midget Series competing at both events. Come spend the the weekend with us and watch some of the best POWRi Micro and Midget racing of the year. The POWRi will put on quite a display when they roll into both towns; as well over 100 cars each day are expected to battle it out.
Thursday night’s events at Lincoln Speedway will also include UMP Modified, UMP Street Stocks and 4 Cylinder Hornets. Gates will open at 5 pm with racing starting at 7 pm. Saturday night the open wheeled cars will take center stage as the POWRi National Midget series will also be joining the POWRi Mini Sprint division along with Billingsley Towing Modifieds, Touchstone Energy Sportsman and the UMP Street Stocks. Overnight camping is available at Macon Speedway for fans who wish to camp.
Mark the calendar for the Saturday June 30th Macon Speedway features the 95Q Firecracker 40’s and fireworks to celebrate our nation’s birthday. We will definitely fire things up for the Independence Day holiday the action heats up at the track for the Herald & Review 100 featuring the UMP Summer Nationals on Thursday July 5th and the Skeff’s Distributing Fireman’s Ball on July 7th.
Macon Speedway offers fun family entertainment every Saturday night from April to September. With many fan favorite events on the schedule, including “Night of NASCAR Stars;” June 28 and Family Farmers Night featuring Kenny Wallace , the famous Herald and Review 100 to be held on July 7 which is UMP’s premier Summernational event,
