DIRTcar Summer Nationals(MUSCATINE, IOWA) Brian Birkhofer traveled to the Badger State of Wisconsin from June 15-17 for a trio of UMP Summer Nationals showdowns. Up first was the Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, Wisconsin, as the popular facility played host to the two-day ‘Masters’ program. On Friday night at CLS, Brian won his heat race, started third in the $5,000 to win main event, and climbed to second in the 30-lapper to finish a close runner-up behind only winner Billy Moyer, Jr. In the $10,000 to win ‘Masters’ finale at Cedar Lake on Saturday evening, the Muscatine, Iowa ace ran fifth in his loaded heat race, grabbed the second transfer spot in the B-Main, and later advanced four positions during the 50-lap feature event to claim a fourteenth place effort.

The tripleheader weekend for the #15b team wrapped up on Sunday with a rare trip to the Wilmot Raceway in Wilmot, Wisconsin. Brian laid down the fastest lap in his group during the qualifying session and later took the win in his stacked heat race. After rolling off from the inside of the second row in the $5,000 to win A-Main, Brian ran amongst the leaders throughout the 40-lap distance and eventually notched a fourth place performance behind only winner Ryan Unzicker, Wendell Wallace, and Shannon Babb. Birkhofer Racing will look for additional success on the grueling UMP Summer Nationals tour this upcoming weekend (June 22-23) in the Land of Lincoln. A pair of $10,000 top prizes will be on the line on Friday at the Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, Illinois and on Saturday at the Fairbury American Legion Speedway in Fairbury, Illinois.
