MOWA - Monster Energy Sprint Series(Bill W) June 27, 2012 – A big weekend of racing awaits the Midwest Open Wheel Association as they will take on a pair of venues along the Mighty Mississippi River this weekend! On Friday night, June 29, they will try to tame the Tri-City Speedway in Pontoon Beach, Illinois, before turning their focus to the Quincy Raceways in Quincy, Illinois on Sunday, July 1.

Jimmy Hurley bounced back from some early season mechanical issues to win the last MOWA outing at Lincoln Speedway on June 15. Defending MOWA champion, Jerrod Hull, continues to lead the point race ahead of AJ Bruns, Korey Weyant, Jim Moughan Jr. and Ben Wagoner.

This will mark the second appearance for MOWA in Pontoon Beach. Invader Danny Smith was triumphant in the MOWA event at the 3/8-mile Tri-City Speedway in 2011 during Illinois Speedweek action. This will mark the first appearance for the series at the racy Quincy bullring.

Gates open at 5:00 p.m. at Tri-City Speedway on Friday, with racing scheduled for 7:00! It is $1 beer night, with admission only $15. 12 and under are FREE! For more information, visit www.TriCitySpeedway.net!
