Lucas Oil Late Model Series(BATESVILLE, ARKANSAS) Wendell Wallace, of Batesville, Arkansas, nabbed his fourth feature victory of 2012 on Saturday night, August 4 at the I-30 Speedway in Little Rock, Arkansas! Wendell started seventh in his heat race and advanced up to fourth, which locked him into the tenth starting spot for the 35-lap feature event. The popular driver known as the “Batesville Bullet” was on the move at the drop of the green flag and eventually grabbed the top spot from Bill Frye on the nineteenth circuit. Wendell would not look back once out front, as he led the remainder of the distance to pocket the $2,000 top prize over Timothy Culp, Bill Frye, Brandon Smith, and Jon Kirby. Complete results from the Comp Cams Super Dirt Series showdown at I-30 can be accessed online at www.compdirt.com.

“We made a last minute decision to head over to I-30 and it really paid off for us,” stated Wallace following the win. “I knew we weren’t going to be able to race this upcoming weekend, so I wanted to get one more race in before the Topless 100. Our car was really good during the feature at Little Rock and we were able to drive up through there from tenth. I just have to thank everyone that is associated with my program and we’ll get our stuff ready to go for the Topless 100.”

The Wendell Wallace Autosports team has opted to take the upcoming August 10-11 weekend off in preparation for the 20th Annual ‘Comp Cams Topless 100.’ The $40,000 to win crown jewel event will take place at the nearby Batesville Motor Speedway in Locust Grove, Arkansas on August 17-18. Preliminary action for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series biggie will take place on Friday night, while the weekend will be headlined by the 100-lap ‘Topless 100’ on Saturday evening. Wendell was the 1998 victor of the ‘Topless 100’ and finished a solid tenth in last year’s version of the prestigious topless event.
