(August 16, 2012) Buckner, MO – The 110th Missouri State Fair is currently taking place in Sedalia, MO. The final event to close out the 2012 event will be the Missouri State Fair Championships. The Lucas Oil MLRA will be one of four competiting divisions on Sunday August 19th. The event draws a huge crowd and is always a coveted win for whoever is standing in AAA Missouri Victory Lane.
John Anderson has three Missouri State Fair titles. He topped the field in 2007, 2009 and 2011. History says this wouldn’t be his year. However, coming off his sixth win of the 2012 season last Saturday evening at Junction Motor Speedway, Anderson is putting together a remarkable year. He is also in the process of putting the finishing touches on a championship season, again.
Terry Phillips, Jesse Stovall and Will Vaught will certainly provide a challenge for the Shop Quik #2 of Anderson. Phillips hit a hot streak earlier this season and really hasn’t cooled off. Stovall has captured three wins with the Lucas Oil MLRA. One of which was worth 5,000 at Adams County Speedway, the only other true half mile track on the schedule. Vaught has limited experience at Sedalia, but will undoubtedly provide a challenge. Mark Dotson, who currently leads the series rookie standings, will give the big half mile a try for the first time in a Dirt Late Model. Several other drivers are expected to compete as well. Please note, a mention of drivers name does not guarantee attendance.
