World of Outlaws Late Model SeriesBloomington, Indiana (08/23/12) – The past few months have been nothing short of a nightmare for Kent Robinson, but on Saturday night he mounted a great charge to a third place finish in his #7r JB’s Salvage/Mastersbilt/Jay Dickens Racing Super Late Model in World of Outlaws (WoO) Super Late Model action.

Winston Speedway (Rothbury, Michigan) was the destination for Kent Robinson on Friday night as he resumed action with World of Outlaws (WoO) Super Late Model tour. Forty-four entries were on hand for the $10,000-to-win event, and he would fail to qualify for the feature via heat race action, but a third place finish in his b-main locked him into the twenty-first starting spot for the 50 lap finale. During the course of the feature he climbed seven spots on his way to a fourteenth place finish.

Saturday night saw Kent finally shake the money off his back with a third place finish at Merritt Raceway (Merritt, Michigan) with the World of Outlaws (WoO) Super Late Model tour. Thirty-eight competitors registered for battle in the $10,000-to-win feature, which earned him the second starting spot for the fourth heat race. He would slip backwards in the heat to a fifth place finish, and with only the top four cars moving onto the feature he was forced to run a b-main. In the b-main he finished second to lock into the twentieth starting spot for the 50 lap finale. Despite starting near the tail of the field he would mount a great run in the feature as he passed seventeen cars on his way to a third place finish at the checkered flag behind race winner, Josh Richards, and Brandon Sheppard. For his efforts he received World of Outlaws Rookie of the Race honors as well as the Hard Charger award.

“Our luck has been unbelievably bad over the past few months. However, through it all my team has kept digging, and a third place finish feels like a win for us right now. Hopefully we can build on this momentum in the upcoming events,” commented Robinson.

This weekend, August 25th-26th, the team will again go into battle with the World of Outlaws (WoO) Super Late Model tour with a pair of $10,000-to-win, events in Virginia and Pennsylvania. The action opens on Saturday night at Winchester Speedway (Winchester, Virginia) before moving to Selinsgrove Speedway (Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania) on Sunday evening.
