Lucas Oil Speedway(WHEATLAND, MISSOURI) August 25th, 2012 – Congratulations to the 2012 Lucas Oil Speedway Track Champions! Saturday Night, the Weekly Racing Series wrapped up with the final week of action in all four classes. Throughout the day and evening hours rain plagued the area, but General Manager, Dan Robinson, stuck it out to give the fans and drivers the grand finale they hoped for.

The ALPS Food Stores ULMA 2012 Lucas Oil Speedway Track Champion is Jeremy Kelley from Walnut Grove, Missouri. Kelley finished Saturday’s feature in fourth, keeping him just a few points ahead of Jason Russell from Henley, Missouri. Kevin Coyne from Kingsville, Missouri, won the feature event followed to the checkers by Russell. Russell finished his night in second and the 2012 season in the number two spot, as well. Rylan Long from Greenfield, Missouri, crossed the AAA Start/Finish Line in third, Kelley in fourth and Tommy Cordray from Browning, Missouri, finished the night in fifth.

One championship point separated Terry Schultz of Sedalia, Missouri, from second place, Jason Russell in the Pitts Homes USRA Modified Class. Russell was able to compete weekly in both the ULMA and the USRA divisions. Schultz’s night started out rough, as he had to run the B-Feature in order to make the A-Main event. Schultz pulled off the track during the feature to end his night. Jason Russell finished the feature 10th and claimed the 2012 Track Championship in Pitts Homes USRA Modified class. John Allen from Chanute, Kansas, crossed the AAA Start/Finish line first, for the third time in 2012 at Lucas Oil Speedway. Allen took the checkers just ahead of Darren Fuqua. Jon Sheets finished the night third, with Jeff Cutshaw from Hermitage, Missouri, in fourth. Shawn Nations from Macks Creek, Missouri, rounded out the top five.

The Carson’s Corner Napa Factory Stocks had an exciting points battle all season long. Marc Carter from Warrensburg, Missouri and Sundance Keepper from Everton, Missouri has intense battles week after week for the top position. Saturday Night, Keepper was unable to make the call for the feature and the 2011 Track Champion settled for second place in the standings. Marc Carter’s consistency took him to Victory Lane once again. Carter won Saturday’s feature and put the wraps on the 2012 Track Champion Title. Carter was followed across the AAA Start/Finish Line by Brian Schutt from Lebanon, Missouri, and Burl Woods from Republic, Missouri. Kenny Carroll lead laps early in the feature but fell to a fourth place finish. Johnny Coats from Joplin, Missouri, was fifth.

Kris Jackson from Lebanon, Missouri, had already secured his 2012 Track Championship prior to Saturday Night. Jackson had nine feature wins on the Diamond of Dirt in the DJ’s RV B-Modified Class. Jackson did not pick up a win this weekend. Shawn Strong from Billings, Missouri made a return to Victory Lane. Strong was followed by Scott Drake from Joplin, Missouri. Dustin Campbell, Jeff Cutshaw from Cross Timbers, Missouri and Cody Nivens from Pleasant Hope, completed the top five. Kris Jackson pulled to the pit area during the feature and recorded a 22nd place finish. A special thank you to Dwight Brown from DJ’s RV for supporting racing and bringing the B-Modified class back to Lucas Oil Speedway.

Congratulations to Saturday’s feature winners as well as the 2012 Track Champions. Lucas Oil Speedway would like to thank the drivers, fans, crews and sponsors for making the Weekly Racing Series a success. We also appreciation the willingness of the drivers and track officials to run Saturday Nights show with no intermission, post-feature Victory Lane celebrations and overall moving quickly to give the fans a full night of racing, before rain moved back into the area.
